Point of view piece

Although a point of view piece is not required for the exam (or so I've been told), we are required to do a point of view piece for a SAC.

So, I was wondering if anyone has a guide or tips on writing a point of view piece as I don't come across them all that often (and have never formally written one).

An opinion piece is not required, but you CAN do one for your context piece in the exam. As for actually writing one, just think of it as reverse language analysis. You should know all the persuasive techniques, so just apply those intermittently throughout the piece (don't overdo it or you'll lose credibility and substance usually) between your EVIDENCE. Yes, you'll need evidence, and plenty of it. Lastly, always try and slot in a rebuttal somewhere. Just start this off with something like; 'Additionally, it would be remiss to believe that...' etcetc. Also, always try and start and end with impact.
