This may be just my PC (happens in all browsers...grr), but if I reload a video in youtube...it...well...reloads. By that I mean if I have a fully loaded video, accidently click on another video without tabbing out, and want to see the loaded video again it has to redownload (despite I can see it in the cache...wtf?) What the heck is the point of that? Sure banned videos I guess, but does everyone have to suffer because of it?

The reason I am ticked off is that in our household we use around 10gigs of just youtube from my brothers computer per month videosand like 10gigs for the rest. I have an autistic brother who loves browsing through hundreds of videos. However most of the time he would go back to videos he has viewed many many times per day...I just find it annoying how much bandwidth is taken just because youtube deletes cache...

Anyway I guess my question is...is youtube supposed to be a greedy bandwidth bitch? It is more annoying for us Australians due to our expensive and capped internet (compared to rest of world).  >:(

Yeh I've got the same problem regarding caching. I heard that Youtube disabled the caching for some reason though so I don't think it's a client-side fault at hand.

Sigh so there is no hope of reducing my brother 10gb Youtube monthly usage...great...Not that fair considering Australia has pretty crappy download caps for the price...

Yup, Youtube is a bitch. I have to limit the amount I can watch a day to avoid getting capped :(

or if he like always watches a video all the time he can just download it once and keep it forever on his comp...

Or if you use Google Chrome, right click on video and select Copy link address... (One of my fav  features ftw)

Oh btw, youtube vids don't cache as in 'save vid' so you can watch again at a later time. What I do is get a program (FileJuicer on the mac) and extract all of .flvs in my cache and rewatch them in VLC/QT if I'm capped lol

Also I have 40gb peak cap but I wanted to upgrade from ADSL to ADSL+2 (same cost per month but only 25gb on peak with TPG) so thats why I'm trying to figure out best way to be tight with youtube videos for my bro lol (also faster itnernet = more videos lol).
