Find out which context your school is doing this year if you don't already know, and start collating examples and supplementary material for it. Might also help to decide which text type you want to do this year and start working on it already rather than doing all three (expository, persuasive, imaginative) equally; although I would encourage you to try all three once or twice this year since you do have a lot of time to decide anyway. Try and have a look in my context guide stickied in the English board (which I promise will be updated once uni begins; too much cbf factor in holidays atm) for how to prepare and so on.

for english i've just
books- taken notes, done character list, bookmark the important pages
movie-themes,important quotes

It's a good study habit and all but honestly when it comes to 1/2 English, you know all that exploration of your texts will not count for too much and it would be better to master your writing skills

okay for biology. Should i summarise the 2 textbook i have and other supporting materials into my notes. Or should i just use the VCAA key knowledge and answer the parts ?

Both if possible. Going through the key knowledge keeps you on track. Summarising will help with memorising/learning/looking back for a quick reminder. Your notes should make sense to you.

yeps i was just thinking of both but scared it would be too time consuming. but i'll give it ago.

Also i know this will be irrelvant to this topic but anywho..
For the styud design for biology 2006-20011, would it be worthwhile to also do the exams dating back from 2000-2005??
