Webcams and headphone speaker help

im looking for a good webcam and headphone thing with a speaker (long enough to get to my mouth).... if anyone can recommend me any? and also any websites where they review webcams and such....can someone point me in the right direction.... and i don't want dodgy officeworks headphones..argh

im looking at buying the logitech quickcam pro 9000. and officeworks sells it for $150, dicksmith for $199 does anyone know where it would be cheaper? and it includes a built in mic, so that means i dont need to buy a headset?............... ouuu i found a store called MSY technology that sells it for $103, very cheap yay!

Was just about to recommend MSY since they're cheapest on basically every computer product but well, there you go. As for the mic, depends what you need it for. I'm not sure about the quality of in-built mics on webcams so you're best to probably give it a go, and if it doesn't match the tasks you need it for, go and buy a headset or a desktop mic.

MSY is about as dirt cheap as they come. However, you do get what you pay for in terms of customer service...

However, if you're after some quality, might I recommend Headphonic. They stock a lot of German imports, the brands often used in professional recording settings, at (what I would call) reasonable prices for the quality you get. I personally own a Beyerdynamic DT234Pro which has been perfect for my use (extensive use of TeamSpeak/Ventrilo for gaming) and very comfy. Not too expensive either...free shipping too!

However, if you're really on a tight budget, a Ritmo microphone (no headphones) from MSY (~$10?) would fit the bill. Don't expect any quality out of it though.

ok thanks Excalibur ..... i went to MSY today god ur right about customer service, they're all asians who pretty much don't know anything about the products, only if they have them or not lol.... the webcam was out of stock >.< but they don't know when they are getting some new stock.... u reckon i should wait or just buy it now? for like 132 bucks oO

i was looking through headphones website, and its like wo very nice website and very informative! yeah that dt234pro sounds really good, so it's not too tight? and it fits into any computer?, does it fit in like into an ipod? does the mic come to ur mouth or is it on the side, and u found no problem with the mic?

just ordered the dt234pro headset from headphonic, fingers cross hope its all good

oh and i got the webcam from boxhill msy, which have much better ppl than clayton one... but the logitech pro 9000 is really good!!! nice and clear and free video skyping!

It's a great headset. Comfortable and awesome sound listening and recording quality. The mic comes just to the edge of your lip (on the left side). It uses the standard stereo jack, so it should plug into any computer (or iPod). Though, I don't see anyone wearing these with an iPod cause you'd look like a dork. The only issue with using this headphone (and any other really) is that the iPod can't really drive high impedance gear (not sure how low it supports)...you need something with a very low impedance for this sort of use. The DT234Pro can be driven by a PC without amplification, but I don't know how it'll go with a iPod.

My microphone has fallen off, though, but to be honest it's a great record especially given the fact that it's nearly two years old (most other headsets I've tinkered - as in the <$100 ones - have lasted me only a few months before something died). Furthermore, I still have sound in both ears (another pet hate of mine re: headphones) - which is the more important part.

Just make sure you treat it with the respect that it deserves and it will last you long enough to make the purchase worth your while.

haha yeah about walking around with an ipod using the headset lol  but im not really using it for that just computer stuff like skyping and maybe listening to music, movies, lectures etc.....
