What if you start uni and hate your course?

Can you change to a different preference on your list (within a reasonable time frame) if you hate your course? Or do you have to defer and go through the VTAC process all over again...

I have a strong feeling it's the latter...I don't think VTAC prefs matter anymore once uni starts.

you can change within the university for sure.

i am aware of that but just say you want to go to a different university...are they at all accomodating?

My guess is that you would apply for mid-year intake.

No, you would have to go through the usual methods - i.e. transfer, defer + reapply through VTAC, mid-year intake, etc.

its either mid-year if the course you want to get into allows it or wait until the end of the year and apply through vtac. as the beginning of the year intakes are the same as yr 12s and unis only accept applications through vtac in that time frame.
