I have had heaps of tutors and spent heaps of $$$ from year 10 onwards. Unfortunately, this proved to be a waste of time. My english tutor was the worst, because she was an old lady who was too boring and technical and never gave me an exact idea of what's required in VCE english.
My science(chem) tutor wasn't that good either. He just used to repeat what was written in the book. He never taught me the exact concepts of how things work. Its something i later realised you have to learn by yourself. Its kinda abstract.
My spesh tutor was good though, because the concepts in this type of maths you cant just figure out by yourself. Like you need to understand the approach towards various maths problems.
overall, tutors gave me a false sense of security. I thought they had covered everything, but they hadnt. You need to do the hard yards by yourself as well. Unfortunately, i found this out too late. I got 93 which was dissapointing, considering i spent about some many thousands of dollars and wasted so many hours.
