It is for substantial discussion on topics that do not fit in other categories. I'm sick to death of the ridiculous amount of spam on VN. I will ban people who start spam threads for one day.

When i want to start a thread which is NOT spam but not really on topic, like say, a joke thread, which board do I use?

I think ever since Sweet Nothings was demolished there has been less spam overall. Sweet Nothings has a habit of flooding into the normal world.

It was banned because there was no value, nine out of ten posts were crap, and there were too many in jokes that intimidated new members. Generally, the quality of VN was crap. Since that was scrapped, things got slightly better. :)

And no, I don't think it'll EVER be resurrected.

Mon Fuhrer, I think you need to realise this forum is populated also by 15-16 year olds, not just mature 21-22 year olds such as yourself and most moderators.  Just my two cents, 15-16 year old kids like that kind of joking and stuff.

But it wasn't THAT kind of joking that most 15-16 year olds associated with - hence the intimidation that Mao mentioned. Think of 4chan and you'll get a better idea of what was going on in there.
