Accounting. No work or stress. My top raw score.

I basically worked on Spesh and Hebrew all year. See how that turned out :P

Physics 50 haha. I didn't even get the Physics SAC prize (there were 4) and I never listened to the teacher in class.
Hey kyzoo - wtf happened to spesh scaling>??

Spesh scaling is higher than last year i think. Last year was 50-->51.2, this year it's 50-51.6. Still low, but I'll take it lol

spesh last year scaled to 52.11, so scaling for spesh is decreasing...

my fluke was english, but english is, was and will always be the most rubbish subject

When is English going to be moved to the Arts/Humanities/Social Sciences Board and be renamed to 'The Art of Bullshitting Units 3 + 4'  ?

Didn't listen to one word from my Business Management teacher, which was the best course of action to take considering the teacher's knowledge of the course. I did the least amount of work for Bus Man out of all my subjects and got a 50.

This is exactly what happened to me with economics! (except I did less work in English). I kept arguing with my teacher because she didn't know anything and she got pissed off so I just ignored her and got a 50.

The more you care/worry about your performance on exam day, the lower your end of year result.

Not in my experience X.X

I cared so much about my Spesh performance that had mini-panic attacks when my calculator wouldn't work in the middle of exams, and after each Spesh exam I felt as if I got raped X.X

Whereas I was so apathetic towards Chem that I slept at 3am the night before (talking on the phone in bed lol)

Can't say that held true for me either. I was feeling like shit the whole morning of the English exam - could hardly eat breakfast and before the exam I was just pacing the school grounds feeling nervous as hell. Conversely I was relaxed for my Biology exam and didn't perform that well.

There's probably an optimal level.

Yeah I cared most about my Lit exam by far - even went into the chapel to pray (using a copy of Hamlet...lol) beforehand.  In balance, I was ridiculously apathetic about Spesh exam 1, and I ended up with a B on it...

I think I would agree to the optimal level. I knew this family of Sri Lankans whose parents pushed them waaaaaaay too hard and they studied more than anyone I knew. Even though they were smart kids, their results didn't come close to reflecting the amount of work put in. I honestly think they were just way too stressed about it to do well. On the other hand, I was ridiculously calm going into my English exam. Like, zen. But it wasn't like my literature exam, where I didn't really care and just wanted it to be over and done with. So basically, you have to stress enough to care, but not freak yourself out.

english.... i cannot type or spell non basic words for shit when i rush, yet that 48 saved my butt so bad

I AGREEEEEE You guys should see tram's msn typing and spelling.

Lit.
I studied way more for Spesh than Lit, did basically like... an essay on each text and didn't really study much in the upcoming weeks. Really disturbed how Spesh is lower than even Chemistry, which I find hard to believe I got 44 for considering I lost 5 marks in mid year and probably another 5 in the end of year.
But anyways, though I was most likely the most prepared for Lit in the class, in comparison to how I treat other subjects I didn't even try for Lit. I laughed in the exam because I thought my pieces were shit and I was throwing the exam away. A sense of hysteria at how much of a farce my essay was, you could say.
