can you have a life and get an awesome score?

This is kind of the opposite to the "how many hours do you study" questions.
Do you reckon you can play a musical instrument, play a sport, have a job and a healthy social life and still get an awesome score in year 12.
Because I don't really want to give anything up.
But mind you I'm only doing 4 subjects in year 12.

If your only doing 4 subjects in year 12, then you should have a lot of study periods on your hands to get most of your homework and study done in school..
2008 - Economics
2009 - Maths Methods CAS
          English

either you're a natural = don't give up anything.
you love hw and work in general = you won't want a social life anyway
hard worker = no social life or part time crap
or
you can do the teacher and hope for the best...

Of course it's possible :) I know several people who've done all that and still got 95+ - some through natural talent, and others through hard work, and still others through a combination of both.

thats cool
it just seems like a lot of people at my school just study all weekend and I was wondering if that's the only way to get the score you want

Well those people are stupid. No offence to them lol. But you've gotta get out and about! No point letting school take away your weekends AS WELL as your weekdays! That's just rude. Lol.

The point is, don't let year 12 consume you. It's a bad path to take.

It is possible. You just have to be organised. I did 6 subjects in Year 12, had a job (mind you, I only worked 1 or 2 shifts per week), caught up with friends and played sport a couple of times a month.... and got a decent score.
As long as you can manage your time well and realise when you may need to cut down on sport/social/work/music activities (eg. during exams, lots of SACs etc), you'll be fine.
