Because it's A3 minus the lines in B3. This would cause the slope going from the bottom left to top right to disappear as well. Hence, E.

Can someone please explain this.  Why do you double the amount of people who support all three in the calculation?

I tried to use a Venn diagram to solve it, but now I'm just confused...

Pr(I&II&III) = 0.05
Pr(I/II/III) = 0.78

Prob of favouring I and <II or III>
Pr = 0.50 - (0.50 * 0.78) = 0.11

Prob of favouring II and <I or III>
Pr = 0.30 - (0.30 * 0.78) = 0.066

Prob of favouring III and <I or II>
Pr = 0.20 - (0.20 * 0.78) = 0.044

Prob more than 1 proposal
Pr = 0.11 + 0.066 + 0.044 - 0.05 = 0.17

I've done this question so many times and fkd it up lol.

Initially, C seems correct, as if the horse is grey, two are telling the truth, and one is lying, which is within the conditions.

However, the question says 'MUST'.  The horse does not HAVE to be grey for the conditions to be upheld.

Say the horse is purple.  In this case, Paul would be telling the truth, whilst Sandy and Andy are lying.  This meets the conditions and thus the horse MUST be any colour other than black or brown.
