Do they put you to sleep when they remove the wisdom tooth out?

Apparently they use anaesthetics but you're still awake.  You just feel numb, just like how a dentist pulls out a tooth.

Well that's what Google told me anyway.

For those of you who have had your wisdom teeth removed, does Bridgeman sound familiar?

^ i knew someone who got their wisdom teeth out and they went under general. as in their pretty much passed out and work up and it was gone.

a friend of mine's two brothers had them both removed, they both were vomiting blood throughout and told how it was the worst/most painful experiences of their life. so scared, i have to get mine out soon (hopefully in over a year).

goodluck LOL

Do they put you to sleep when they remove the wisdom tooth out?

What about the days after it's extracted?

Hopefully nothing happens with my wisdom teeth. Also I wonder if one day they will have it optional to remove your appendix when you are a baby so you don't have to worry about appendicitis!

I had four wisdom teeth out (apparently mine had to be cut out from my jaw) and I was under a general. Minor pain, major swelling for a few days but that was it.

the days after you just are doped up on painkillers and just have to deal..

yeah we don't even need an appendix, so true it's better without one in case of disease, but imagine removing organs on every small child haha :|

Ahaha, that's exactly what happened with me. Except now they're straight because I've worn my braces but I'm starting to get lazy with my retainer...

Yeah, same with me. probably just wear them once a month now.

I used to bite my cheeks to avoid lauging during inappropriate times and I suspect that as being the cause for needing braces somehow. now, i need to get my wisdom teeth removed, hopefully after yr 12 though, don't want it impacting on my vce.
