I went under general, and was confronted with a supermassive black needle which was poked into my mouth numerous times. Getting wisdom teeth removed really isn't that scary at all, though. I also got to inhale some sort of awesome gas before the operation >:D

And who can complain about getting to eat jelly and mousse for a week?

tl;dr

I went to the dentist a couple of years ago for a check-up, and before that I hadn't been to the dentist in about 7 years.
I had one tiny hole that was there 7 years ago, but was too small to do anything about... the filing fell out the next day anyway.

The dentist also said that I had all my wisdom teeth... but I don't remember getting them... like, there was never any pain... :-S

When I got mine out, either the anaesthetic was just water or she just didn't know how to inject it, but I got 4 shots and it did next to nothing and I could feel almost everything.

Go general anaesthetic if you can...

She sounds competent... at least you come out with an arm missing or something.

i think my dentist said my wisdom teeth didnt need to come out...made me so happy, but then i needed to get like 4 other teeth out anyway due to overcrowding at the front of my mouth :(

So we can be wise..?

*shrugs*

Not everyone needs them removed... like me... I had plenty of room (I actually have 33 teeth), so mine were happy to come through easily and painlessly.
I think this is a case where people only hear about the bad, and none of the good... people usually only talk about their teeth when they have a problem with them.
