Johnson has to go for the next 2 tests, bring him back for the boxing day test at the G. Surely running into bowl with a 3 week rest and 85,000+ getting behind you has to get him up!
as for clarke, he needs to go as well, give him a rest...

i dont really like doherty, not that he played badly, but more the fact that he hasnt been playing much longer forms of the game in state cricket, so i dont think he knows how to bowl in a test situation...
dougy bollinger or harris in for johnson and clarke/north out for whoever :)

Apparently Johnson has got a problem with seam positioning atm, and hence the poor form

I think Doherty is fine to stay in there, the selectors need to take risks sometimes and I think this one was appropriate. Harris is also a good option, especially after his Shield form against Victoria!

I want to know what White has done wrong. Led Victoria well and is a decent bat. I'm sensing a Hodge-like tiff with the selectors.

PrObably the fact they are Victorians and majority of selectors are based in Sydney or from there so they don't see alot of other players other then NSW or unless there good. That's why Shane Watson moved from the bulls to the blues because more chance of getting a test game there

^ that probably true, times need to change though

The only NSW people I would recommend atm are Clark (aka. less famous McGrath) and Lee (just scared everyone)

Both are unlikely to make selection into any Australia side though :(

Whoever the Australian selectors choose, I just hope we can get 20 wickets in the 2nd test match.

In the first Ashes test, a statistic came up like 7 wickets had been taken for ~900 runs between the two teams. To win a test match, you need to take wickets and get runs. Australia's current problem is getting the wickets, hopefully it all works out on Friday.

as much as i know johnson needs to go, i feel like without him we are worse. No offence harris/bollinger/siddle/watson/doherty just doesnt sound like an attack to take wickets. hopefully il be proven wrong but without JOHNSON i feel the attack lacks that fear factor.

I tend to agree with that.

...while Ben Hilfenhaus could be replaced by Ryan Harris when the team is named today.

I don't agree with that move (if it happens)

selectors are favouring harris because he reverse swing and knows adelaides pitch well..they say hilfenhaus didnt do much after the ball lost its shine... :S
seems harsh but i guess there gonna try anything to get the wickets

yet no mention of North... Surely Ferguson (Hodge is a lost cause) could make more than 1 run!

yepp 100% agree. Probably because we made 500+ in the first innings or around there that the batting line up doesnt need to be fixed so much
