I just went to take my hazards test 2 days ago and while I was waiting at the counter I saw like 1000000 books on a shelf, never heard of buying it online :P

You don't need your logbook to sit your hazard test

True, But 99 the hazard is a bitch IMO. You don't know if you are doing anything right until the very end, since you get no feedback. Biggest suggestion I can give you is to remember that they love to have stuff obscured behind trucks so before you click to turn make sure you wait for a clear view.

Also before your drive test, practise reverse parallel and think about getting a driving instructor for a single lesson to make sure you are doing everything right (I had things that I needed to fix up).

I meant purchase a logbook after my hazards since im already at the centre and they would have books there.

Isn't the hazards meant to be hard to fail though? 54% to pass? I was going to do some practice simulations the night before and it should be enough. Im worried about the drive test though since i drive an auto, but im doing the test in a manual. Stall = go home :(

If you're even barely competent the hazards test is easy. There are some stupid ones but you can pass easily.

Have you driven in a manual at all? Because if you haven't then I definitely wouldn't be trying to do the test in one...

I've done about... 5 hours in a manual. Probably done 4 times the required 120 hours in total so driving skills isn't an issue. Just the stalling :P I heard they are really anal when it comes to manual, deducting marks for little things such as driving with one hand for too long (not putting 2nd hand back on the wheel straight after shifting)

That's not anal that's just safety. One handing driving is dangerous for a reason.

But yeah for manual, just change gears smoothly and you should be fine. They'll deduct marks for jolting changes, so clutch in all the way before you gear shift.

If you fail your Ps, do you have to wait 6 weeks before you can re-do them? Or is that only if your logbook is deemed unacceptable

The prac simulations are only compatible with WinXP or under (not W7 or Vista), however you do get free time to do the same simulations before you start the test as many times as you like. It's not that difficult but some of the "SAFE" times are generally not I would normally do in real life (eg slow down near a roundabout driving@25km). Other then that most of the questions are simple

You gotta wait 6 weeks if you fail any of the processes prior to getting your P's (excluding the hazards)

Recommend doing my Ps test in an auto? In the car i drive now and will be driving throughout my probationary period? Or should i risk it and go for a manual test in a car i've never driven.

Also with the parallel reverse parking, it's not sandwiched between two cars right? there's just one? cos i dont wanna assram some guys front end with the vicroads assessor there =/

I havn't taken my Ps test yet (got it at the start of Jan), but from what I know it could be any parking test so you should practise them all while you have the time especially parallel between two cars (the hardest one!).

IMO go with auto since you've got most of your driving experience with it. It would be a shame to fail the manual test when you are a perfectly capable with automatic. But really its up to you, do you want to drive manual next year?

It won't be between two cars. It's either a parallel behind a car where you're allowed to reverse up to 7 meters behind it IIRC (meaning it's best to just stay wide of the curb, reverse really really far back, then just drive forward and approach the curb), or do a 3 point turn (just remember to do all the necessary headchecks, mirror checks and signalling for each point). Personally got the 3 point turn so I was pretty happy with that. Only thing to really watch out for and perhaps practice is doing the parallel on a hill because I don't think you're allowed to roll too much, meaning you either need to have a fast foot, or you can just make use of the handbrake.
