It's been two in the last couple of days, I suspect by the same person...

If the problem persists I'll extend a post minimum of maybe 20 posts to Water Cooler participation

Maybe if we all were kind to each other, humane in our approach and forgiving then we would be able to feel good within ourselves as well as helping others calm down. I sincerely doubt anyone- whatever race or religion they may belong to, would want to fight constantly, be at war, and live in a hell hole. If there is any way that we can stop people fighting- whether its here on VN or in the Middle East- we should try.

Maybe you only see the bad coz that's what your looking for.Take a deep breath-no race is all bad-there are plenty of good people out there. I have friends from so many faiths- and I enjoy their company, I hope they enjoy mine:)

sharia law can coexist peacefully with secular law. The empirical evidence shows, agian and again, that crimes rates are lowest in sharia law districts, but this is not to suggest that non-muslims must have sharia imposed on them, they will be permitted to drink alcohol, and worship their own religion, they have their rights.

Sharia law is outdated and inhumane, and I see no reason why a free secular society should choose to incorporate it. Who's gonna sit by and watch someone get their hands amputated for theft, or watch a muslim homosexual get stoned to death? In addition, what's to stop a muslim who has broken sharia law from claiming that they were never really a 'true muslim' to begin with?

It is a surreal, mad world where how one lives is dictated by their invisible friend in the sky.

Come to think of it, it would be a brilliant premise for a horror movie. Or a comedy.

dear friend, allah (peace be upon him) does not demand non Muslims follow sharia. If Australia was to incorporate sharia, which I believe is the best outcome if we truly want a multicultural society, then there would be separate courts, and separate punishments. You say that cutting the hands of a thieve is wrong? but what about their crimes? to steal from innocent citizens is to betray the hold words of the Quran, they must suffer the said punishment.

And dear freind, I do not disrespect you religion, nor your families heritage, so please refrain from critizing the prophet (peace be upon him) and Allah (peace be upon him), you would benefit much from not having such a dogmatic and narrow mindset about different faiths and cultures.

Whilst While we're at it why don't we separate Australia into two countries. This is the biggest piece of shit I've heard. People from other cultures have been able to live in our country and maintain their own culture in a way that doesn't affect other cultures negatively. You though don't only want to live your own culture, but force the country to adopt it. Once the court system is separated forcing conversion would seal the deal.

Ok. So I didn't really read the whole posts in this thread so I'm not going to comment on them. But What I read was the article provided.

The title of this thread is misleading. This women did not 'insult' the prophet, merely disagreed with that he is a prophet and Islam altogether. Like many of you here on this forum. I don't think saying that he was not a true prophet ( although regardless of what and who says, he is) can qualify as blasphemy, but anything more it would certainly would have.

I'm sure there is more to this case then just that, but reading tells me that this is not part of Islam-just another of countries enforcing Shariah incorrectly.

Because of corruption. People have left the essence of their religion-Islam. Hence why everything seems to be turning against us. When people start to prefer Money,wealth, status & power of this world over their own faith, all this begins to happen. Go look at the Middle East. Don't tell me they are enforcing Islam, because they are not. *they refers to governments.


If you look at our history, the times that we were prosperous and successful were the times where the Muslims held tight to their belief, and only when they left it did everything begin to crumble down.

What's happening now is a shame and I do not like it, in fact I hate it, because people just begin to hate and become intolerant of Islam, without really knowing anything of it and just any opportunity to tarnish its good name and core of its beliefs.

But had the woman actually insulted Muhammad, would she deserve to be punished (capital/corporal)? If you believe this to be true, it is not corruption, but due to a fundamental flaw in Islam itself.

My argument is that Islam INFLUENCES this corruption more than any other religion. Not that it directly condones intolerance, but that the nature of the religion causes intolerant behaviours to become prominent.
