Exactly right. I know it is beneficial to have as many sub-forums, accessories and features as possible when running a site, however its like being a bodybuilder whose body has become grotesque and almost deformed. It doesnt aid the site in its quest to further VCE students (and everyone) in their studies. I love talking about games, technology, cars etc which this site offers, however a religious section does nothing whatsoever to make this site a better one.

I have become mates with people (such as 99.95 for sure) due to this site, which is fantastic but also created tension between Souljette for example (this may not be the case but is a mere example.)

It is clear that Chavi is a passionate man of Jewish faith and that Souljette is a passionate woman of Islamic faith (lets not get all technical here if they are not, we get the idea, right?)and that their views will simply not exist harmoniously with one another when debating in a solely religious forum

It's not a question of whether you're religious, it's when someone seeks to impose (or voices support for the imposition of) their religion on other people that tensions occur. Yitzl K is very strict in his own adherence to his religion, yet doesn't advocate its imposition on others.

uhm uhm... i agree with you entirely (muggedbyreality). Although different beliefs do not entirely cause the hostility, you cant deny that they contribute towards it. The fact is that the instigator of the debate is varying beliefs, and when such beliefs are indoctrinated into people, they hold them so true that they will not relent unless that person has bowed down.

So my main argument is that religion should not even be on this site.

If you believe in God, G-d, Allah etc, pray, go to church, love Him, do not argue in His name on sites such as this.

This is the wrong way to look at religion. If you truly believe in your religion then you should be able to defend it and if logical, rational debate refutes what your religion teaches then you should review your beliefs.

Dude i know, but the fact is that people on this site continuously stray from logical, rational debates, and that is why i said what i said. If someone was bagging Buddhism for example i would be fairly pissed and defend it. However i choose not to anymore because i have seen where it leads... into shit like this topic.

You are right in saying that you should be able to defends one's religion, but i believe it almost impossible on this site.

There's this comedy show in Britain called "Room 101" (where guests talk about what they'd like to eradicate, or consign to Room 101.) A group of milquetoast BBC execs once ruled (in advance of Sacha Baron Cohen appearing on the show) that while it was permissable to dump Jesus, the Bible or the Torah, they weren't prepared to allow a guest to put Allah in Room 101. Utter hypocrisy.

This hypocrisy extends. Westeners are prosecuted for kissing in public in Dubai whereas Muslims feel like the have a right to their own schools, toilets etc here? Get fucked. lol.

The kissing in dubai offends people of that country.
