Would anyone advise against doing level 2 subjects in year 1 and level 3 in year 2? It's the only way I can fit in what I want to do.

As long as you've adjusted to uni well it shouldn't be a problem.
Level 2 is generally just a bigger work load, small increase in difficulty.

Level 3 is probably the same workload or even less, but conceptually a big step up. This is for eng, could be different in other faculties.

depends on the subjects. a first year could quite possibly do business finance and OB in the same semester (semester 2) of first year if you did qm1 and finance 1 in sem 1

If I'm not mistaken the clubs and societies stalls are out on Thursday and Friday during o-week. Does each club/society have a stall on both days or is there a rotation? There's a specific club I want to join this year and I don't know how to go about it. Thanks for the help.

Yeah they have different clubs on each day. You can find the Thursday clubs here and the Friday clubs here.

I am doing Finance 1 (FNCE10001), and the required textbook is Financial Institutions and Markets, 7th edition by hunt and terry.

Firstly, is it ok for me to buy the 6th edition instead of the 7th?

Also people who have done subject reviews for FNCE10001 on atar notes have said that you don't really need the textbook, is this true?  In the subject guide the lecturer says "In our experience, you will greatly benefit from reading the required chapters set out in the schedule below prior to each lecture" and ha has a whole reading schedule for the textbook.

So do you think I'll need it, and is it ok to buy the 6th edition?

That's what they say for every subject....

Hardly like they'll prescribe you a textbook and tell you in the guide 'you don't actually need this"

I did FNCE10001 using only the lecture slides and websites (found via Google) and found it to be fine. A lot of the content can be easily found on Investopedia or similar. A friend used the 6th edition and it was fine, I don't think there were major changes.

Is the host engagement website still broken, or has anyone managed to get on it?

Are the review articles essential to read in BIOM30002?

Essentially it's just a compulsory fee that goes towards services at the university which everybody uses (amount paid is dependent on whether you're a full-time or part-time student). More info can be found here: https://futurestudents.unimelb.edu.au/admissions/fees/ssaf
