Pandemics, dystrophies, cystic fibrosis and neurodegeneration. I'm steering well clear of any immunology. How did you find today's test? :)

I found it harder than the first one, although it was probably because I wasn't as well prepared (had a BCMB30002 MST today as well). But overall, I'm finding BIOM30002 much more manageable than BIOM20001. It is probably harder but I prefer it to having seven lectures a week.

I feel the same way; maybe the assessment in BIOM20001 was easier though. *shrugs*

I've never been a fan of immunology (too many types of cells), but I actually found the B cell module the most interesting. What modules are you thinking of answering short answer questions for in the exam?

The B-cell module was one of the most interesting things I did at Uni. Really connected the dots for me.

does anyone else hate how people pick a spot in the library, put their books there, and then leave them for HOURS?

today I was in one of the libraries that closes then reopens at 5pm for the extended hours zone, and I walked in pretty much immediately after it reopened. I find a seat and start studying. at 5:15 or so i note that the spots on both sides of me had books/paper/headphones, but no one sitting there.

the first person came back at 7:15 !!!!! and then SLEPT AT THE TABLE FOR ANOTHER HOUR, PACKED UP AND LEFT. when i left at 8:30 the other person didnt come back at all which means their stuff sat there for >3 hours!!
it just makes me so upset because people go to the library to study. their homes might be noisy/unacceptable/have no or slow internet/might need scanners/printers and so many other reasons. if you want to go to the library and not study, dont sleep at a desk, sleep on one of the couches !!! or better yet sleep at home LOL !

so many people would walk in and out of the library in this time because there were no spots bc of people reserving seats like this, its absolutely ridiculous. I dont know how people can leave their stuff there like that without fear of it being stolen. I pack up completely just to go to the bathroom LOL
seriously felt like grabbing their stuff and handing it into the front desk saying "hey this stuff was left at a desk and no one has sat there for hours, pls put it into lost property in case they come back"

in other news hope everyone is doing well this semester !! exams are soon so start studying earlier rather than later !!

For anyone that has been on the committee of a club/society, how exactly did you get that position?
I'll be starting my masters a Melbourne in semester two and want to make the most of the extra-curricular activities there.

If stuff is left on a desk it's completely appropriate to hand it in after a reasonable period of time (certainly an hour is too long) and I'd encourage you to do that!

If you want to hold a role in a club, join it in your first year and go to their events, AGM etc and you can put your hand up for a bigger role after that

Yup. For me though, my biggest pet peeve is when I sit down, get comfortable, get everything out, and the power point near my desk is not working for me to charge my laptop. I had to me three spots just now (isn't that what everyone wants to do on a Monday morning?) to find a working power point.

Can anyone tell me if vector calculus (MAST20009) is recorded this semester, or even last semester?
Thanks in advance!

For people who have exam clashes, has anyone heard back from whoever takes care of this stuff yet? I submitted the form ages ago but still nothing - Stop 1 is clueless as well.

Has anyone done BLAW20002: Privacy law and social networks? How was it etc etc?

Does anyone have any suggestions for winter break subjects. I plan on tackling IFA2, BusFi and tax law next semester so I want to do a subject in the winter break to ensure I only have to do 3 subjects. Currently I'm thinking of Privacy law and social networks since I don't mind corp law and didn't mind bus law but I was wondering if anyone had any other suggestions??
