I have Austrian heritage but nobody in my family can speak German (or any languages other than English!). When I see my dad he gives me history books written in German and tells me to translate them for him and I can understand maybe 25% of the text. It goes something like "The...it...ambiguous preposition...her...people...death...the...he...it...she...they...Monday..."
P.S. can you pretty please with a bottom-buttered biscuit on top send me all the BIOL10004 notes you were going to give to other people ;w; I'm missing half the course but want to review it before next semester :')

I am Austrian. Austrian high five! Hahaha your dad and my dad should get together for burgers.

I haven't taken BIOL10004 unfortunately, only BIOL10005 and CHEM10004.

My dad isn't the Austrian one, it's my mum's family and my dad's probably not a very nice guy to hang around with anyway :V
I swear someone offered to share BIOL10004 stuff in here, it must have been hobbitle and not you. Sorry D: I'm really embarrassed now.

I meant they should get together for burgers because they both think we can speak German. No that's perfect!! When my dad is released from jail I'll get him to give your dad a call.

"your dad and my dad should get together for burgers." was my 100th post, hm.

Can anyone recommend fun and somewhat aggressive playing card games that 2 adults on a date would enjoy? I have Korean horror films, pizza, and now I need to know what humans do with cards and board games.

This is related to UoM General Chat because my date is studying electrical engineering at UoM. >:c And is a hottie mchotpants.

somewhat aggressive
:o

Idk about 'somewhat aggressive' (Spoons is usually very aggressive but it requires more than two people), but other games are Blackjack, Snap, Spit/Speed and Rummy. I guess Snap is aggressive. Speed can also be pretty intense, it's my fave card game.

He and I argue frequently, I'm looking to fuel the fire.

I looked at the rules of those games and that's perfect; thank you!!

If you're ever in a group with your date you need to play Cards Against Humanity.
It's even better in person than online.

Speed it is, thank you! I'm not sure whether we are strongly attracted to each other or want the other to experience a slow and painful death. Looking at Speed, the cards may end up lodged in his throat.

Cards of Humanity reminds me of Mafia, best. That almost makes me want to go to an Christmas party I was invited to Friday! But I already told them I had prior commitments (sitting in my apartment alone in the dark, watching cartoons with ice cream stains on my shirt).

Mafia is actually the greatest thing.

Also to get this thread somewhat back on track, when do people reckon is the best time of year to go on exchange? Specifically to the UK? Thinking Unimelb Semester 2 (UK Semester/Trimester 1) at the moment, because it'll be wintry (I love winter) and the start of the academic year there, which for some arbitrary reason in my head seems like a positive.

UK winters are the best kind of winter! All that rain and grey skies and freezing weather and gloominess in London which is already a gloomy city. And you drown in snow too. It's like a dream come true.

Admittedly though the raininess happens throughout the year. But not the snow
