Calc 2 was so hard. Anyone else think they didnt give us enough time?

Don't worry dude, I think everyone who did Calc 2 feels exactly the same way. The exams are known to be notoriously difficult and having a 80% weighting definitely does not help.
I did Calc 2 in Sem 2 last year and felt so bad after the exam! Everyone else felt that way but luckily it turned out that I didn't do as bad as I had thought :)
BSc (2015), MD1 (2016)

It's always like that.
I was writing as fast as I could for the entire 3 hours for Eng Maths. I had to redo one question though, but otherwise only just finished.

I reckon it separated the people who've been studying throughout the entire semester from the ones who crammed during SWOTVAC and the last few days.

Yeah, I fall into the second category but the exam was actually doable unlike the semester 1 2013 one (I only did one practice exam so I'm not sure about the earlier years' difficulty).
Only problem was that there were a lot of long questions and some of those I only learnt how to do yesterday so it really took me a long time to do. People who've studied consistently would've done them pretty quickly I reckon.

But yeah fair exam in my opinion, separates the men from the boys. I reckon I got around 60%, left around 25 marks blank, meh.
Lol i reckon i got about that too. The population one was a big wtf.  Funny how for bio and chem people start leaving one hour before time ends whereas for calc and esd everyone is busily writing until the last second.

I understand where he's coming from. I do. But to be perfectly honest - we're talking about educated individuals working underpaid jobs in the inner urban area of one of the most liberal cities in Australia. I'm not PARTICULARLY astounded that left-wing attitudes dominate (if they do??).

I also think there are greater injustices in the world than having to learn about Marx. The last few centuries of politics have basically had liberal undercurrents, it makes sense to study the people who drove them. There aren't many conservative 'revolutions', as such.

Just because we pointed out some valid inconsistencies in the article doesn't mean that we've missed the point. He writes at length about how lecturers should keep their opinions out of lectures (a valid point) and then finishes the article off with a sook about how universities don't allow freedom of speech. It detracts from his point (the one we apparently missed).

The Australian is a rag Russ, and not only is that article disgracefully poorly written it doesn't express a single coherent argument that's not predicated on the author's assertion that university lecturers are radical lefties. There's no discernible point to the article other than his apparent need to whinge about the fact that probably for the first time in his life he's had to extend his thoughts beyond the paradigm that's relevant to him and actually contend with rational arguments in an educated manner as opposed to relying on empty rhetoric. I'm sorry that I'm not impressed by his outstanding intellectual analysis with sentences such as "Excuse me for asking, but does he not realise that socialism has been a complete failure." Not only that but the characterisation of the left and why they have concerns with the human consequences of capitalism is completely ignorant and misguided, which at least explains how warped him mind is that he would be compelled to inflict this rubbish on the world in the first place.
