Does anyone find going to lectures a waste of time ? Going to a lecture then having to re-listen to the lecture is such a time killer. Especially with subjects like anatomy where there is so much content in the lecture I would have to re-listen to lectures to write all the important points the lecturers say.
I may skip most of my lectures but I don't think this would be a good habit ...

Is it true that undergrad students don't get to wear the graduation hat? I'm really afraid I won't be able to get the stereotypical ecstatic sensation of throwing my hat into the air when I graduate. First week and I'm already thinking about graduation >.<

Yep.  No hat for undergraduates at UoM.

Do we have Monday off?

Probably not. My course has Monday off though. :)

Get used to the fact that your classes and/or examinations may fall on other (quasi-)public holidays too (e.g., Melbourne Cup day, Queen's Birthday).

Sounds like you need to develop better note-taking skills. Invent your own set of symbols and shorthand for common words, phrases, etc. That will help you jot down points quicker and negate the need to re-listen to lectures.

Cuddlekins, sometimes it can be helpful to skip your lectures and do them at home, the reason being that you can pause them and look something up on google or in the textbook.

If only you could see what the lecturers were pointing their lasers at in the recordings, i think watching recordings are better for me personally than attending them.

But you don't even go to lectures when they're actually on, apparently.

Lectures are overrated :P

With online tests, do we have to complete them in one sitting? Can we do half of it one day, then half of it the next? Would this still count as being one attempt?

Depends on the subject, some of them have a timer and need to be completed all at once (they will tell you if this is the case, on the test site it will have instructions like 'don't log in through the portal because it will log you out and you will default exit the test') but some of them you can open and close and go back to them before submitting.

The situation you have described is possible for ILTs/ prepracs in chemistry and biology. However, for mid semester (online) tests and post prac tests (the last one for biology) these are timed and must be completed in one sitting.

With online tests/assignments, are we expected to show any workings on paper?

Anatomy is a snorefest :(

I'm enjoying physiology but anatomy is just pretty much memorising an anatomical dictionary :(

Physiology is easy as fuck. Four lectures in and we've covered was the equivalent of a third of the very first chemistry lecture.

Edit: that's not to say I'm going to ace it, so take my comments with a pinch of salt. I'm just saying that the workload is ridiculously low.
