Nooo I tried to watch it and I watched one episode and I didn't like it very much.  I think my tv taste is like maturing though?  So I might be able to try again.  I say this because I watch fewer trashy shows ALTHOUGH I did watch the season finale of Mistresses tonight and IT WAS SO GOOD everyone go watch US Mistresses right now just so you can watch the drama that is that episode.
Things everyone likes that I can't get into: Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad

I get it. I only really started liking it in the later half of the first season I think it takes time to sink in, but i'd give it another shot! It's nothing like what is on mainstream television nowadays, Vince Gilligan (director) is quite simply a genius when it comes to using things like symbolism/ foreshadowing in the show. I haven't watched game of thrones either, doesn't really interest me.

You are missing out!!! But at the same time I envy you because i'm caught up with the series and there is only 3 more episodes left for me to watch but you have a whole 5 series of awesomeness just waiting for you.

Breaking bad is the best show ever!! (my 3rd favourite show)
Simpak, do you like Homeland? That's my favourite TV show of all time!
Prison break is my 2nd favourite of all time, but it's not on anymore :(
And The Walking Dead is also great, but I can't imagine you'd like it if you don't like Breaking Bad haha!!

That is so gross.   :D

It makes me want to throw up. (◕‿◕✿) The organization of my psychology class has deterred me from trying out a neuroscience course plan.

Has anyone else's grades dropped this semester? In the first semester (with the exception of the exams) I didn't once drop below a H1. This semester the grades I've received in addition to H1s - a H2A, a H2B, and a H3. The last 2 were for minor assessments, but I was wondering if was a difference in my dedication (maybe I'm becoming overconfident and sloppy) or the course content/workload itself...

, I was wondering what are options for accommodation at/near the University of Melbourne. I for one am personally hoping to get to say near the uni in a shared house/room/apartment, of both boys and girls. Mainly, just looking to make new friends and further expand social connections. Therefore, I was wondering if any fellow ATAR Notes users know of good locations to stay at.

If so, I'd appreciate if you'd describe the type of accommodation, how easy is it to meet new people, and if staying with several others is a good option, and whether you reckon it's worth it. Also, are there places like UniLodge, which is a community in itself? That seems really good.

All advice and information is happily accepted :)

Cheers!

Prison break sounds like it has a 'thug' vibe.  I don't respond well to thug vibes.

Woah dude.  You aren't at uni till 2016.  Bigger things to worry about between now and then.

But to answer your question:

Option 1- If your parents have the dollars to send you to an on-campus college, that's definitely your most 'social' option and it's good for school-leavers as it doesn't throw them straight into the realities of being away from home (you dont have to feed yourself etc).

Option 2 - and this option also requires $$$ - you can get a room at UniLodge which I don't know much about but I think they are pretty small and single-person so perhaps not so social?  I don't think UniLodge provides you with food so I could be wrong.

Option 3 is moving into a house with friends, or just move in with randoms who are looking for a housemate.
If you are moving out with friends, look on domain.com.au or realestate.com.au for houses (search to rent 2,3,4 bedroom whatever).  You have to fill out lots of applications and go to lots of inspections etc etc.  I personally wouldn't recommend this option as a school leaver.
If you want to move into a share house with 'randoms' then use gumtree.com.au and look through their 'room for rent' section.  There are about 30 new ads a day for a room just in the inner north area.  A room in a 3 bedroom house in Carlton can cost you anywhere between $160-$300 a week depending on how nice the place is.

That's how I was a bit with Breaking Bad. It's a bit slow in the beginning and hard to get excited for, but once you get into it you'll be hooked. It gets much better once you're deep into the series! I'm dying waiting for the remaining episodes!....
Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, Suits, Community, Friends. You're missing out.

I drastically changed a couple of my subjects this semester (from 2 commerce breadth subjects to Biology of Australian Flora and Fauna, Genetics and the Evolution of Life) and I think my grades are generally a bit better. Probably because I find myself more interested in Biology than all that shiz about supply and demand and calculating bond yields.

That being said... I did quite well in MBB1. Got cocky with the first assignment and lol turkey slapped with H2B for first MBB2 assessment. Dunno wat the fug happened there besides just plain carelessness (didn't even reference stuff correctly... )

Do you think I can still get an H1? As far as I know that assignment was worth 16% so I'm taking a HUGE hit I know...
