Landed an ongoing teaching position for next year before I have even finished my degree! Been in complete shock since finding out a few days ago.

Hard work will eventually pay off. :-) Keep at it everyone.

Congratssss! How exciting! :D Btw for placement, did you get to choose your placement school or does the uni just choose for you based on where you live? :)

OK all you uni experts.  I need your secrets.  This is my first full-time semester at "real" uni in a "real" course (as opposed to art school - I'm 26), nearing the end of first year.
So. All semester I've probably done an average of 4 hours per day (7 days) of study or assignment work on top of fulltime classes.
That isn't INSANE but it's a lot more than a lot of undergrads do.
I missed one week of classes, the week after mid-semester break, due to illness, and I spend four solid 9-hour days catching up on missed content.
Exams are in two weeks, content is still coming, I feel like I can't fit everything in, I never get around to studying biology because my maths subjects take up all of my time, it's all I can do just to stay on top of the current content but I'm forgetting the stuff from earlier in the semester at a rate of knots.
As you can tell I'm having a little freak out.
HOW DO YOU DO IT.  How do you do it and get H1s?  Because well that's my aim.... but I seriously doubt I'll be managing H2Bs at this rate.  I just can't grasp the material fast enough.

Thank you!

The university has complete control over your placements, mainly because they want to place their students in schools that fully understand the course demands.

At the start of the degree, the university places all students into one of ten geographically-defined PSGs (placement school groups) and allocates them to a school within that group. Normally, there are about ten schools within each PSG.

Good luck on your degree! Let me know if you need any further advice with anything.

hobbitle, it might not help but everyone feels this way.  I'm so far behind it's not funny and instead of studying properly I've just been laughing at the following video on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5udFjWDM3E
Just keep persevering and you will succeed!  Make sure in swotvac you do way more than 4 hours a day though haha.

Heat makes everyone crazy too so I can't expect to be overly productive today.  My brain rejects the prospect of heat-study.

Agreed. My thoughts are like my breath on the wind. It's just too difficult to focus or stay committed to a task because it's so draining.

Me toooo, I'm happy I took Rachel's advice to see an Academic Skills advisor. They're brilliant.

IDK how I'm going to condense this much information over the next 2 weeks.  :o

What are your tips for getting the 'My Grades' section of LMS to work well? Anything that would be of assistance would be great lol, like anything at all.

Tips for which subject? I mean, I can say "study more" but there are lots of class specific tips.
I usually revise an area until I can recite it spontaneously or from first principles, then I assume I understand it and move to the next one?
