Dear Student,

You would be aware that the subject PHYS20009 Research Based Physiology is quota – restricted for Semester 2 2014.

The Department of Physiology has now finalised the formal selection process into this subject and have granted you permission to stay enrolled in PHYS20009 in Semester 2, 2014. You are not required to do anything further to confirm your enrolment.

Sweet. I was concerned about leaving all my quota subjects until the second semester in case that decreased my chances of earning a place. But apparently they decide allocations for both semesters at the start of the year, instead of choosing students before each semester. Useful to know.

WHY IS REGISTRATION STILL CLOSED IT'S 10AM i hate you
It's so flipping annoying that they allow a first come, first served basis and then open it at 11:48 AM.

^lmao, i freaked ut a tad cause i thought timetabling had started and i was going to miss out on all the good timeslots and end up with awful clashes.
Yesss I just neurotically double checked that undergrad timetables open on the 3rd a minute ago ahahah

I think we have the same friend :P
I have a friend in there who was always trying to recruit more people to the group.
Is she as peppy, perky and the embodiment of cheer as I envision her to be?!

Righto, I didn't read it calm your farm. All of the biomed lectures are recorded. Chemistry and Biology are probably the ones you could afford to miss the most because the lecturers are a lot more accommodating. That said, they're also probably the most useful lectures.

Guys please give me your opinion on this!

I want to take 3 subjects this semester. Do you think it is better if I choose 3 core subjects (intro to microbiology and immunology, biochemistry and molecular biology, principles of human structure) or choose 2 core subjects and one breadth (an ecological history of humanity) ?

Which one u would choose and can u give me ur reason?

Tnx tnx tnx

I'd probably take all cores. Mainly because I assume they'd be more difficult than the breadth. So might be better to leave the breadth for a 4 subject semester to 'lighten' the load. Plus, if any of those cores have any overlap or help with one another then that's a bonus too.

So I emailed the lecturer about enrolling in Complex Analysis without having done two 2nd year maths subjects and I get this back:

"I sought advice from the relevant committee in the Department, and received
the response:
Complex Analysis is meant to be a capstone which pulls previous ideas together. Nevertheless, it is an advanced subject and the student should be picking up some more skills first.
In view of this, it is therefore not possible to waive the prerequisite."

C'mon...I mean how much could doing something like Vector Calculus prepare me for C.A.?... :(
