Nah...I was hoping for like 70s in S2 but I definitely know I won't get that high. Nowhere near as high. It felt like I wrote something a year 9 person would write

It's a lot harder to tell how you went in S1 and S3 though. They were both harder than the purple practise test tbh

You'll probably outscore us all man, not even kidding LOL

Really? The style of questions required you to think a lot, but it wasn't really about natural aptitude. I at least (sort of) knew what was right and what was wrong in today's test. UMAT preparation was probably not worth it but I definitely think getting used to GAMSAT-style questions will be very beneficial. A full-on prep course is probably excessive but buying other resources such as Examkrackers and Des' MCQ did help me in the long run.

Look, that probably is right in all honesty. I just don't think that the benefits will have been extremely high in any case. That said though, I didn't so much as look at one question, and I didn't feel too bad about what was being asked. It was more a feeling of inadequacy that plagued me, rather than of unpreparedness hahaha

lol I feel kinda like a douche. In the bathrooms (as in after the line to get inside the bathrooms there's another line for people who don't wanna use the urinals) there was a line to the toilets and I needed tissue so I skipped it and asked the guy in front if I could go in the next open stall to quickly grab some. Guy looked kind of shy and just said yeah. Went to get toilet paper (dat tissue substitute) and come out a few seconds later and he's gone into another stall. Was like wtf these guys are chting so fast.

Exit bathroom and realize the line wasn't for number 2s but rather shy number 1s.

I really enjoyed the constant stream of future doctors walking straight from the urinals and out the doors. They think so highly of their personal hygiene that they don't feel the need to wash their hands after draining the snake, it seems.

Can confirm some guy headed toward the taps to wash his hands but had to swerve around someone else and decided to change his path and leave without washing.

Hygiene notevenonce.

I don't really think we can answer that for you.
Graduating 6 months later will make absolutely no difference to your future with the exception of the fact that you will have to stick around for another 6 months (which if you hate uni or something could be an issue).
Overloading, if you can't keep up with the workload COULD affect your future well at least your grades.  But as long as you pass it wouldn't have much of an effect.
As for summer, how much do you value your holidays?  Personally I would do pretty much anything to avoid summer semester because I do a whole bunch of stuff in my holidays, but other people swear by summer semester.
It depends on your priorities and how you might handle an overloaded semester or two.
Keep in mind that you will only get approval to overload if your grades are quite good (like generally H2As and HDs).

So I'm a first year BCom student and have decided to underload during my first semester, by doing 3 subjects. Basically, I need to fit a breadth subject somewhere later. From my understanding, I have the choice between a summer semester or overloading later on, or just going veeery slowly and taking another 6 months to graduate. What is generally seen as the better choice?

In my opinion, staying an extra semester is nothing. I was in your shoes in my second year. I underloaded, did 3 subjects per semester, and was faced with this question - squeeze more subjects in over the holidays and graduate 'on time', or stick around for an extra semester.

At first I was dead set on finishing my degree on time because I wanted to graduate with all my friends. But then I realised that I needed my holidays to relax and unwind or I'd go insane from too much studying. So I decided to stick around for an extra semester - and I have no regrets. I'm in third year now, and I am set to graduate mid 2015. Then I plan to take the rest of the year off, go travel, and come back and do postgrad in 2016.

And I think this will work really well for me because I'd love a decent break in-between undergrad and postgrad.

Staying around for an extra semester is actually quite normal and there are lots of people who do this (e.g. people who go on exchange, people who have failed subjects before, and people who have underloaded etc.)

Plus, when you graduate mid-year, you graduate in Wilson Hall (I prefer graduating in Wilson Hall than Royal Exhibition Building).

It might be worth having a chat to a student advisor at your student centre about this. They can help plan your study plan for both scenarios (if you choose to do subjects over the holidays, or if you want to do an extra semester).

I'd like to ask a question about Easter Holiday based on your experience guys. Are those days really holidays, in a sense that you will not be burdened or stressed with assignments that happen to have deadline right after it? Or is it just basically like free study week, where the most you can do is to stay at home to study or to revise?

Depends on the subjects you're doing. For instance, I have two mid sems on the tuesday following the break so i'll be trying to focus on those. However, i'd like to finish my lecture summaries beforehand so I can enjoy at least half of the break.
