We only cover Biochem for 18 lectures so it's hardly much, but we went through amino acids + all of glycolysis, TCA and oxidative phosphorylation. Throw in a little enzyme kinetics in there too, and some signalling pathways. From stonecold's review:

Quote
Biochemistry
Know the amino acids, single letter codes, three letter codes, resonance structures, properties and how to draw peptides and how the amino acids interact with one another.
Understand the chemical interactions involved and basic thermodynamics and be able to explain them.
Know the Ramachandran plot, as well as all of the properties of b-sheets and a-helices, including how to draw a rough schematic.
Know every step, including enzymes and cofactors, of glycolysis, gluconeogenesis, glycogenolysis, glycogenesis, TCA cycle, electron transport chain as well as a few other reactions which you are given.  You need to be able to recognize and name all of the molecules, but not draw them.
Have a solid understanding of enzyme kinetics.
Know all of the signalling pathways relating to glucogon, insulin, adrenaline etc.
Know all of the diseases discussed in this part of the course.

Hmm... quite a bit of that is in first year now. Hopefully they are preparing us well then.

I picked E (the pKa one), because I'm fairly sure it was correct. I was also unsure about the formation of the minor/major groove :/
What I learned from the test today: memorise every word Irene has ever uttered :v
i don't even remember this question lel.
do you remember what the other options were?

It was Q2 and the other choices were...
hmmm I remember the other 2 choices:
-The major groove of B-DNA is deeper than the minor groove (I think ti was something along those lines, but I know that it was incorrect)
-The major and minor grooves are formed by the hydrophobic surfaces of the bases and the sugar/phosphate backbone (I was tossing up between choice "E" as aforementioned above and this answer).

Hey guys.

Did anyone take HIST10014 (The Great War) last year or before?

I'm interested in knowing what the final exam was like. MCQ?

My email doesn't seem to work for some reason, can't email the abject coordinator
