The source shows the author as American, perhaps that was the influence, hmm.

I'm pretty sure they're the standard, but they definitely exist in Spanish. Though one of the terms (mestizo) quite literally means mongrel...

...WAIT WHAT WAIT DID YOU KNOW THAT WAS ME OR WAIT WHAT. WHAT WHAT. I MEAN UNLESS THERE WAS ANOTHER GIRL IN THE FRONT ROW PLAYING NEOPETS. My username is m3l4eva, neofriend me ♥

I also play Neopets in Human Physiology and Biological Psychology because neopoints do not earn themselves >:c

Kinda! My mother was born in Singapore, but her parents were born in China. My father was born in Germany but his parents were born in Austria. I have no idea what that makes.

Hahaha. Ballerina effortlessly answers the tutorial questions despite playing neopets/facebooking during lectures, and I honestly have no idea how :P

I've started studying for two of my subjects. I just start each subject according to their date on the exam timetable, making sure I allow a day for each lecture e.g. my muscle & exercise exam is on the 19th of june so i'll start studying for that on the 15th of may or something as I have 33 lectures to cover

^ I try and keep up with lectures on a regular basis and partition out revision during SWOTVAC evenly. 'Try' is a keyword though ;c

Oh nooo, I thought I had removed all the naughty bits. I removed the attachment completely because the lecture was a bit confrontational (it centered around race science). I learnt a lot of new naughty words. @_@

Hi people,

Going by the entrance into the arts program in 2014 which was 92.35, I somehow doubt I'm going to get an ATAR that high - I think I will get around the 88-90 mark, and the difference is quite substantial and impossible for me to achieve with study scores. I am not eligible for SEAS or anything along those lines. Would there be anyway that I could get into the course if the entrance ATAR remained around that score, or would it be pretty much impossible? The main problem I have is that I have been quite inattentive in English class and scored pretty poorly in my Language Analysis/Oral SACS which is creating a detrimental obstacle from getting me that 92.35 ATAR via. the ATARcalc.

If anyone could please let me know I would be very grateful.

:)

That's a dangerous assumption to make. Once you decide you can't get that ATAR, you stop trying and then of course you won't get it! If you really want to get 92.35 then you need to be a bit kinder to yourself, and (it sounds like) start putting in some more effort and paying attention in class.

It's also not the end of the story if you fall short. You can transfer in after a semester of good grades somewhere else, which a lot of people find easier than scoring highly in VCE, especially if you are studying a bunch of subjects you actually enjoy.

Having a positive attitude towards your VCE as kinslayer has said is very important. :) And definitely do not look too much into ATAR calculators as it is a bit early to make guesses at your study scores. The good thing is that you still have a whole semester and it's never too late to put in the effort and strive at a goal you want. Best of luck. :)

Hey, I am in Year 12 and likewise to this user above ^ I am very interested in the B/A at UoM. I am a hard worker, I do have a SEAS application in the making but an outright 92 is a little sceptical based on pure talent. I heard from one of my mates that his friend got into this course no SEAS or anything and received an ATAR of 87, so hopefully that provides some clarity to the above user ^. However, I would also like to know what other students doing this course, think of it as a whole? Especially the philosophy department, e.g. which philosophers Deepak Chopra, Socrates, Pluto, Jean-Jacques Rousseau. Philosophy is damn right fascinating.........

Based on the ATAR Calculator and pure guesstimate processes of course, it is unlikely I'll get below 85 but perhaps even more unlikely to get above a 92 and a clearly in. I suffer from depression, but again the ATAR points is subjective and only gets marked up by two perhaps... If I get above 85 with a SEAS application, am I more than a 50% chance of entering my dream course/university. Or are my efforts better focused on "saying my prayers" so to speak.

Thank you!
