LMS literally states "if it has buttons use it. There are no prohibited calculators". However im still worried they could take it off me.

Just finished the GENE20001 exam, was so tired from the morning Physio exam that I unintentionally took a 15 minute powernap in the middle of the exam.

Yep.

I drooled on my German 1 exam last year after I decided napping on it was a good idea in the last 20 minutes :(

But you're done now, right? MIIM, GENE, PHYS, CEDB have all had their exams :D

why everything is so hard in this uni! I guess they asked teachers to do their best so we can fail :D I really have no Idea why they do this :D

Well there's a couple of things going on.

One is that university requires much more conceptual understanding and analytical thinking than high school. Especially after first year. It is hard. It's supposed to be hard.

The other is that academics are judged primarily on how good their research is, not how good their teaching is. Many lecturers just don't put enough effort into their teaching to be good at it, and you can't entirely blame them... the system is broken. University of Melbourne, in particular, has an endemic snobbish attitude and very large class sizes in its undergraduate degrees, neither of which are great for learning.

And I'm going to America next Saturday (not this sat) as well!

I'm going on that day too.  :) What a coincidence if I see 'Turtle' from AN, even though I don't know what you look like. Whereabouts in America are you going?

Also I was wondering, for people doing accounting/commerce/business/finance/eco (etc.), is the Giblin library usually packed during the semester? As in, is there a computer or a desk that's guaranteed to be free? I think it's such a lovely library, especially compared to the biomedical one, which I find to be too warm & dim.

wooooo done! That was intense. I feel like I crammed more into my head in the last couple of weeks than I did all of year 12. That's partly because I did nothing before swot vac though. Kinda screwed chem (so much fact recall??) but the rest were okay, uni exams seem to just want to see if you know the stuff.

I just threw out the most satisfyingly thick pile of papers from the semester. Goodbye my loverssss, goodbye my friendsss

So how does accessing results work? I know they get released officially and all but someone told me you can find out what you got sooner. How does that work?

the official result date means that all subjects results should be in by then, but some subjects do release results earlier than that date, so you have to check the portal if it's released.

They'll appear on your study plan (the one that has the list of Enrolled, Planned, Completed etc. subjects). Last semester, they also appeared in the results tab at the same time. They tend to start coming out at the end of the exam period, so quite a while before the final release date.

There's a new library in my building, lol, that is almost never populated.
