Where should I look for *suggested* textbooks for my subjects? I'm keen to begin a bit of reading before the year starts but have no idea where I should be looking haha.

Also for class registration should I be planning beforehand? Like looking at all the timetables for each subject and try finding which I want?

I know the handbook lists textbooks recommended for each subject, also check subject reviews and ratings (they say if you realllly need the textbooks or can do without them) BUT, be careful because some textbooks change, e.g. I was gonna buy 3 chemistry books for chem 1 but apparently only 1 textbook is needed this year the handbook said.

Hi guys,

I'm doing the Bachelor of Science, majoring in computing and software systems. Under which heading am I supposed to pick Accelerated Maths here? It's a bit confusing.

Thanks

Probably put it under Science Level 1 for now, if it ends up causing an issue the Science Student Centre can move it around for you.

Has anyone done Introductory microeconomics and introductory macroeconomics that could let me know if knowledge from micro is essential for macro? Two of my other breadths are only available in sem 2, thus I wanted to take micro sem 1 first year, and macro sem 1, second year. Thanks.
It's not directly tested, I found having a bit of micro knowledge useful but you can probably get by without it.
If the other two breadths you wanted to do are also level 1 you will not be able to, as you can only do a maximum of 3 level 1's.

Oh, yeah they are both level 1's. Thanks for letting me know :)

Does anyone know how to fix the Error during subject enrolment, where it says "MAST10006-Calc 2 is an anti-Req for MAST 10005" and so on. Theres 5-6 lines of one subject being an anti-req for another subject, all based around calc 1. I have chosen to undertake calc 1 in sem 1, and calc 2 in sem 2. Thanks.

I did both those subjects last year and no I wouldn't say there's any essential knowledge needed from micro, for macro at all. There are only a few concepts which are drawn on from micro and it's very basic :)

Enroll in Calc 1 first then enroll in Calc 2.

Hi,

With uni approaching I just wondering if someone's got the lecture slides for NEUR30003: Principles of Neuroscience. Just wanted to do some preparation.

Please PM me. I really do appreciate your help.

Thanks

Just wondering if O-week is worth attending for 2nd year (biomed) students?  Thanks!

I was able to do the placement test and got into Japanese 5 but it still won't let me enrol in it. Should I speak to the MDHS student centre or the Arts&Music centre to fix my breadth enrolment?

I'm not sure if the process is different between faculties but I did a placement test for Chinese and I received an email straight after the test stating which subject I will be enrolled in. A few hours ago I just received an email from my student centre notifying me that they have loaded a prerequisite waiver against my study plan which should allow me to enrol in Chinese 9.

If the procedure is same across the university you should be expecting an email from them about a prerequisite waiver. However, if you're still worried you can contact them just in case, it might just be the system taking a little longer as it's the beginning of a new semester.  :)

When did you get notified to take a placement test?
I enrolled in Chinese as my breadth but I never got informed on a placement test or anything at all ahha
