Does anyone here know if a maths subject is required to pass a bachelor of science degree? This is what I've heard and I'm not sure if this correct or not...  :-\

Completely disagree about M2M being harder than MCB. M2M is tricky and it's a lot of work, but all of the concepts are pretty simple...

Well there's no required subjects, unlike in arts where you have to do a core subject in first year so if it was required we would know.

It's true man... It's definitely harder. They put in heaps more distractors in the MCQs, and each lecture is pretty much jammed back full of detail (more than what you'd see in MCB)

I feel like with MCB and HSF the MC questions in the exams have always been a little easier than the ones on the MST's, but with M2M........ nope lol

M2M = toughest subject thus far, by the length of the Flemington straight.

FML. :( So much for MCB being the "hurdle" subject of the degree. At least there's only 36 lectures? :/

By the way, for BIOM20001 exam B, do you think it's OK if your answer only consists of a labelled diagram? I've gotten good at doing the diagrams but when I write then I just feel like I'm rehashing what my diagram shows anyway. Ideally I would like to add to the labelled diagram, but I'm thinking that I may just draw where possible and if I have time at the end add in some written responses.

36 lectures but you'd probably be also be taking 2-3 more subjects along with it.

What I did was draw the diagram, annotate it with labels and explanations, and then seperately write in some extra details, so I didn't get the sense that I was repeating myself. Sorta like this.

(Yes my drawings are terrible, I'm not an artist, although it does seem that I drew a freaky face on the first image)

Just using a diagram isn't enough - it's more of an aid for the examiner than anything. You probably can show off more detail through text.

Your work looks very similar to mine which probably means I'm on the right track. I just need to get a lot faster then. Unless this turns out to be another episode of VCE English - the only exam I ever finished on time was the actual Year 12 exam. XD

Did you realise that when you first drew it? Or after? Besides, you can call it abstract and the art world will love you for it!  :P

Yeah even if you fail the exam you can still pass the subject but max overall mark would be 50. Jon emailed us today about the chi squared table for the last question... I was hoping there wasn't a chi squared cause I didn't learn that soooo goodbye q5 lel

With accounting I felt like the financial part was easier than previous years but the management side was quite long and dull. That relevant cost analysis question was a bummer

I used chi-squared for my last question, but got confused with the type 2 error. sobs. Question 4 was tricky as well :(

pseudo-hurdle though, right? I was told that even if you fail the exam, if your overall mark is over 50% you will pass BUT the maximum grade you can receive is a 50%. So glad it's over though.

Did anyone sit the ARA exam too btw? I found that loooooooong as, I feel like I did a buttload of writing.

I'm just hoping to pass my QM paper. Gosh, it was that bad :( Part A wasn't a help at all.
ARA just ripped the soul out of me. It was wayyyyyyy too long and too much too interpret in such a short period time.

nooooooo really?? I quite enjoyed Calc 2 this semester. The content was fun and John Sader is such a brilliant lecturer. I say this now but just wait until I sit the exam lolol
But I'm probably not gonna do any more maths subjects after linear algebra, since I'm only doing this to have more graduate options.

So what are my fellow Class of 2017ers planning on majoring in?
I'm thinking of either Patho (heard the subjects are pretty badly taught tho), Micro/Immuno or cell/developmental bio   ;D
