I'm not sure about semester one but for semester 2 the lecturer put recordings that are not exactly the same as what he does in lectures because he wants us to attend the lectures.

^^^^^^^^^^^^ what RKTR said. but i h1'd finance 1 and didnt go lectures or watch recordings. the lecture slides + google are enough to do well, so you won't really be at a loss if you dont go. just make sure you do the tute homework and go to tutes if you arent going to watch/attend lectures

I doubt it'll be at all hectic. The 20% thing is only for first year subjects, so you won't have the 2nd/3rd years clogging up the servers, and the majority of people will have already enrolled in their ideal classes, so it should be pretty smooth. Still, get in early just in case.

Also, assuming they haven't massively botched the servers after they fixed them on the eve of the first 80% release, things should be peachy :)

Hey guys,

Carnival day is on the 23rd at 11am but so is my hosts program. Do you think it would be better to go for the hosts program and miss the first few hours of carnival day or just skip it?

Thanks!

I start at 8am and finish at 9.15pm once a week from University. Is this a bad thing? I live about 1 hour away.

I hope you have a day off on either side of that...
It'll feel like a really long day (assuming you've got a heap of classes in between those times and not just one at 8am and the other at 8pm :P) but if doing that means you get a much nicer timetable, I'd say it's worth it. I know others would say it's better to have five half days as opposed to three really full days though, so it depends how you spend your time at uni.

9:15 is weirdly late, too. Make sure to time your travel schedule if you're catching trains home as they tend to be at least half an hour apart at that time of night.

Is it okay to attend lectures that you're not actually registered into? I've got a Psych lecture at 5:15pm on Tues and Thursday, and would prefer to go to the 10am ones, but all spots are gone...

Be aware that if it's the same as last year then the early psychology lectures will be absolutely packed - to the point that not everyone will get a seat. However, if this is the case, don't stress - it will clear up after the first few weeks when people stop going to the lectures.

Me too! If someone could PM it to me, it'd be great! On that note, is there anyone here that knows when Accounting Reports and Analysis tutorials begin in first semester. In the student portal my timetable (under activity comments) says "Tutorials commence in Week 1" but the subject information tab in the LMS says there are no tutorials in the week Feb 29 - Mar 4 (tute no.1 apparently begins Mar 7-11. ) Can someone clear this up?
