The actual quote is "speaking as someone who is rather good and interested at maths."

In the context of what he wrote, I'd hardly classify that as arrogant and let's be honest, I could take half a sentence from just about anything, reference it for my point without explaining its context and make just about anyone look bad. Poor form mate.
