I'm afraid to say I've actually got Mozart on replay due to people saying it helped your brain function...

Haha, anyway good luck class of 2011! I'm sure we will all ace the exam and just keep in mind that at 12:01pm tomorrow... you will NEVER have to write another essay again... (unless, of course, you're silly enough to do Lit or EL as well)!! :D
Ummm pretty sure it's 12:16 jane :P

But yeah, I've tried Baroque, it seems to help me focus/remember things, but perhaps it's just me :P

:O It is too... haha I'll probably be celebrating then anyway...

Got a 20/20, 16/20, and 15/20, for A, B and C respectively.  No idea what happened with the language analysis, but I think my context might have been a bit too simplistic.

Really? That's good news, I'd been told for a 45 you need 56/60 minimum and strong sacs. This is very pleasing to hear

Remember he finished rank 1 internally, low A+ sacs and you'd need something like that.
damn.. false hope..
im probably not even in the top 20.. although its a really large cohort.. more than 200

jab are people at ur school very good at english, or did u just ceebs Sacs? U write so good.  . . But it is gw I Guess
the marking at my school is shocking.. our own teacher marks our sacs then only the TOP students get crossed marked.

i bugged my teacher to correct my essays a lot so i dont think she liked me after a while. hence she gave me shit marks. also my teacher was a REALLY harsh marker compared to other teachers such as Paulsterio's teacher who practically gave like half his class really good marks..

everyone who doesn't get good marks but feels they should become to cynical and jaded about their teachers.

Not everyone is out to get you.

although I do agree, its it pretty nonsensical that they don't cross mark the lower range. Pretty poor effort from what I consider a relatively good school.

would really recommend that you don't stress about SACs right now and just remember that it's all done and all you can do right now is hope to do your best tomorrow.

lol but its true..

i mean so i misinterpret the prompt slightly and what does she do.. take 9 marks off me for the criteria about ideas relating to the novel..
then she further takes marks off for structure and grammar even though there were barely any grammitical mistakes..

okay..
how about the fact that my school gives out the SAC prompts/topics a week early,
and you have people who get tutors and friends to write their essays for them, who end up getting 48-50/50, and then, on the trial exams (under exam conditions), they average like 6's.

teachers in many schools are retarded, so don't make assumptions..

The cross marking at our school goes each teacher brings an example of a 100%, 80%, 60% and 50% to a meeting. The teachers then standardise the entire marking scheme of the best pieces and a ranking is effectively established. All our pieces get marked by at least 2 teachers. Those who get full marks get marked by 3-4.

For one of our SACs, they gave the entire year level the prompt one day early. Big mistake lol.

my teachers never cross marked a thing, sacs were under complete different conditions between classes (e.g. one class getting over an hour longer than the other) etc. you just do the best you can. SAC marks don't mean much in the end.
also don't bother trying to predict english SS, it's completely whack. I was definitely not at the top in terms of sac marks and i didn't think my exam was particularly fantastic but still got much higher than expected.

don't dwell on your exam afterwards, english is so hard to predict that you are better off not worrying about it.

My teacher says that it's because of time constraints, they only cross-mark some of the essays, although he didn't specifically say they were "good" ones

@ BoredSaint, I don't think that my teacher is an easy marker at all, one of my essays actually got marked up after cross-marking. But yeah, you do make a good point in that my class seems to have less lower outliers than other classes :S
