yeah i seperated at the start but got a different answer to itute..

maybe i stuffed up my partial fraction.. i got A=B=1/6?

I got a=2/3 and b=-1/3?
I got the same as you

And me
if you times by -2 at the start i think you get that. but i split at the start and then only times -2 to the first integral.

i think both answers are the same anyway

It depends on whether you split it first then did partial fractions for just 1/(3-x)(3+x) or if you just did partial fractions straight away on (1+x)/(3-x)(3+x). The first way gets A=B=1/6, the second way gets A=2/3, B=-1/3

ahhh i see.. no wonder i got different answers to my friends. i think they would accept both cause they are equivalent

The f***** up moment when you realise it had coordinates in bold, and you didn't even read it whatsoever.

Straightforward exam, veering on the too easy side.
Hopefully exam 2 is more challenging! :D

i reckon tomorrows exam will be the separator. Surely there can't be 2 easy exams in the one year. Finished that paper in 25 min, my teacher did it in 20 min.

Yeah - the exam was far too easy. It sucks because it means the more capable students, like Thushan, are unable to show their ability! Also, it means the most important factor that determines the A+ cut-off will be the number of silly mistakes. I would predict a 37.5-38.

Wow - 20 minutes. I finished in about 30 and practically did the entire exam thoroughly twice. Hopefully, I didn't lose a mark... sigh. Exam 2 better be extremely challenging :P I hope it has some interesting questions too...

Hmm, yeah I thought it was quite short, it took me about 15-20 mins and I was going quite slowly...

Yeah I took a bit longer because for some reason I thought that 4 - 4 + 5 = 1 for some reason on question 2 so I spent about 5 mins trying to figure it out... :-\

Reckon you got 40 thushan?

What about you Jane? 40/40 too?

Yeah - it took me 30 minutes because I was trying to confirm my answer to the dy/dx of parametric equations by finding the cartesian equation as well. When I tried to confirm using this method, I made a mistake and hence spent 5 minutes just staring at it.

Like thushan, I'm hoping so... but I might have not shown enough working or something so I'm not counting on it. :) You?
