I wen't with a process layout, as she could be manufacturing different types of furniture: tables, chairs cupboards etc.

Process was a decent choice, but Product could be justified if you said she made furniture types in batches, for example chairs on some days, beds on another. All of this with an assembly line of course.

Yeah, as long as you didn't use fixed-position you would be correct.

i disagree, any of them (except for retail etc) would have been acceptable as long as they were properly justified, even fixed-position.
in furniture companies, there are rarely assembly lines. for lots of things, ie tables, a fixed-position layout is used.

I wrote for OH&S that management had to give staff training to be able to operate machinery effectively, and remove any hazards from workplace.

Job security i had constant communication and recognizing them when they do something well. Justified it by saying that if management is recognizing them for their good efforts, they will feel like a valued part of the company and therefore not feel their job is under threat.

Sweet, love it when people answer similarly. Makes me feel like it's correct. ;)
