Is one able to find out what percentile one's GPA or (preferably) WAM puts one in?

Quick reminder: allocate reopens 10am tomorrow.

Unlike the first stage, changes here into empty spots are on  first come first served basis. Might be worth getting up early just incase you didnt get the slot you want. Also keep in mind people may swap out through the day and week, so, check back often as spots may open up!

In other news, we start next week. How the hell did that happen? It really zoomed by.

aaaaand I was smart enough to schedule an 11am 1 hour appointment in the city tomorrow (with no internet on my phone). Man, I'm just hoping for the miracle that I get my preferences!!!

It's pretty rare to get majorly screwed over. I've never really had what one would call a horrible timetable (been here for 7 semesters now too!). Unlike the UoM system, allocate actually works pretty well in keeping everyone happy. Even if you didn't get the one you want, you can only swap provided the one you do want still has spots (which has its own issues). I wouldn't worry heaps, just look straight at 10am if you can.

I want to go back but i also don't want to....so conflicted. Still haven't narrowed down my subjects yet either.

I prefer the old moodle, this one is a little...too bright.

Ok I know timetables come out tomorrow but I found a few other ways to move around my timetable that just didn't occur to me before, so if I need to I can change slots around tomorrow once allocate+ opens.

Which one do you think is a better option? (btw option 1 has two law2102 tutes because they were my first and second pref - if you think this is a better option should I have my tute on monday or tuesday)

FYI I live in the west so it takes some time to get to uni. 3 days are fine for me but only today I realised I could squeeze everything into two days.. Now I'm not sure whether I should stick to 3 days which aren't too long or have 2 days (of which one day will be 8-5.30 - meaning altogether including travel I'll be out from about 6am-7.30pm-ish). Also, I don't really mind getting home late or anything because either way, whatever time I get home from uni I don't really do much because I'm tired so I won't really be missing out on much.

Thanks!

2 days a week sounds glorious. :O :)

If I were you, I'd do three days though. You don't want to be falling asleep or being too dependent on caffeine (what am I saying #lawstudentlyf)

I defs prefer to have max one tute a day, so I'd go the fourth option :)

In my (also west-side) experience, i recommend as few days as possible. IDK what line you're on but now especially after the timetable changes (taking effect the week uni starts again), it takes me 2+ hours.  4 hours even if you just went to Monash to buy a milkybar or hand in an assignment, 4 hours before you do anything. That's a lot of dead time. Not to mention getting ready to go to uni (gotta put on pants, etc) and waking up at a time you probably don't want to. If i were you, i'd go for option 2 or 3, they tick my boxes (late as possible, dont wanna wake up 6am AND as few days as possible).

I strongly admire your dedication to actually wake up at 6am to get to recorded (?) lectures.

The downside of going less is you kind of wind up in pseudo-holiday mode (not necessarily a bad thing) and you seem to get less work done in general. Not that i'd add on an extra day to mitigate this or anything. IF you're in any clubs/work/have other commitments, schedule it around that as well.

I've got 5 units, only live about an hour and a half away (an hour and a bit if public transport lines up well) and I'm still trying to get it all onto two days lol. Go for two.

I take the werribee line, hope I'm not affected :

I tend to use my travel time to do readings so it doesn't really bother me too much having to go one day extra if it means I'll be more efficient in the long run. Last semester I went pretty much two days (because the third was when I had recorded lectures and no tutes) and I wasted sooooo much time at home it isn't even funny. Whatever option I choose, I'll have two 8AM starts, but on fridays the lectures are supposedly recorded so I guess I don't have to rock up - I just learnt from last semester that it's best if I do attend lectures because I end up not really paying attention or absorbing anything when I try to listen at home.

Oh, and also this semester I'll be starting work and some volunteering, which'll take up two of my free weekdays so I'm trying to factor that in as well

Don't you get tired from having long days though? (coffee is not a solution, I'm not a coffee drinker)

This really is a personal thing, but I prefer to have my stuff a little spread out. I honestly don't care about having to go in all days (although so far I haven't had much choice there... :P) if it means I don't have to work for 4 hours straight/8 hours with little breaks, I'll take it. If you think you're like me and won't be able all that stuff so close together, take three days. If you think you can handle it, take two days. Also consider having two tutes on one day and just lectures on another - that way, you still only have to come in two days, and watch things online for the other (/assuming recorded lectures)

(also Brenden, you're such a complainer :P)

I'm from the West and take a similar line to you. I was at uni 5 days a week in Semester 1, I had to be due to the number of contact hours. Anyway, exercise helped a lot, plus sleeping if you're not going to drink coffee.

P.S If you have massive breaks, e.g. a class at 10am and the next class is like at 4pm, take the chance to study and then make a cheeky visit to Glen Waverly Anytime Fitness or the Monash gym

Complainer? I didn't see complaining. I'm doing two massive days so I can work more on other days and you're complaining about four hours ;)

Long days are tiring but I'd rather take the tiredness because I waste time after and before uni relaxing etc. May as well get it over with.

I gave up on 8am lectures during my experience on the Werribee line. 8-5 days leave you dead.
