Maybe kids just want to get smashed so that they can get away from their abysmal lives driven by materialistic things?
Or maybe it's just fun. Live and let live
And why do I need to be drunk to have fun? Why cant I be myself and have fun?
Never said you couldn't. It helps people have fun and they are entitled to that. Yay, you don't get smashed like other sheeple. Who fucking cares.

No.
It's really not that hard to quantify..., but I believe that being raped once is not as bad as being raped five times, even if the one rape was by a gang of people.

I got so drunk once that I blacked out completely and had no memory of what happened. I piddled on the floor and somebody had to clean it up apparently.

I dont get it either. I don't drink, get completely turned off by the people who think they are cool to drink....and wont until I feel right. What is with our massive obsession with drinking these days?

Haven't read the entire thread, but...

I enjoy a nice cold beer with a bunch of mates, whether it be at a mate's house or a good pub. Exchanging opinions and stories and bullshit. And then a few more beers. Watch the alcohol fuelled ideas flow and wait to see which mate will be the first to take the game too far and do something hilariously silly while smashed. Usually, it's not me, I'm quite conscious of my limitations. And also of my health.

However, one thing I absolutely am not a fan of is the flashy overpriced douchebaggery of nightclubs. I really don't see the appeal of having to pay in excess of $4 for a pot, or, as I experienced last week, $10 for a shot, in a cramped noisy cage whilst being surrounded by complete tossbag posers who are there so they can be seen, photographed and tagged on Facebook to advertise how cool and exciting their lives are >:(

Definitely missing the house parties from the year of 18ths.

The Finnish word pilkunnussija, which translates literally to “comma fucker,” is someone who risks his social wellbeing to annoyingly and persistently point out punctuation errors.

Yeah ... I think i'll stick to my orange juice :)
Why would i put chemicals like alcohol in my system which can have nothing but negative effects on me ? I love to party but i can do so sober and just being myself instead of the person i am under the influence of alcohol.. Maybe i cant relate because i'm only 16, but plenty of kids in my year level drink and i think its so unnecessary - at such an age and level of maturity you are prone to doing stupid things and the mistakes you make in one night can haunt you for the rest of your life... If its about the confidence, then why dont you.work on improving your social skills and the way you carry yourself instead of getting the booze to do it for you... I was watching people getting smashed on new years and im like 'right, you dont want to remember how you started 2012'...Im just sayin...

Good on ya fletch-j for turning your life around like that... Musn't have been easy, respect to you

THANKYOU!
Why do people need the presence of alcohol in their systems to ensure they have a good time? What has happened to the old, LET YOURSELF GO AND HAVE FUN SOBER?
