Does anyone know how much Gym Membership is for Monash Clayton? Also, if you have gym membership, can you use the swimming pool? :D

Gym Membership is around 40 dollars a month for students. I think a bit extra like 5 dollars for swimming pool included.

Its a pretty good gym they just renovated it and added a few extra machines and around 5 minutes walk from like the main areas of monash so definitely worth it.

Good deal if it's a half-decent gym. I think La Trobe goes for about $500-700.

Also no comment as to why you might want a membership...

Can we not have a thread that is dominated by the notion of "Paul and girls" for everyone's sake? Because it tends to go off-topic/locked altogether. Kthanks.

I second this, let's keep this on the topic of the Monash gym :)

So are there any Monash kids who would be able to comment on the gym, as to the quality of it compared with, say, an external gym

Also, would an external gym be more expensive than the Monash one?

That's actually really cheap. I was paying $80 a month for my gym last year...

EDIT: and that's with a student discount :|

Almost definitely yes unless you really shop around.

I think it's worth trying for some of the nuances of a gym. I.e. go at peak time (usually 5-7pm) and see how crowded it is, see how many pretentious people there are (usually unis are good for this), do a workout and see if it suits what you want to do equipment, space, etc. wise. Most gyms usually offer at least a day for a free trial.

You've been the only one who's brought up the topic of 'the ladies', not anybody else.

Hmm alright then, I'll ask Taiga and I'll check it out beforehand, I probably won't be there during peak hours though, I'm actually intending to gym before or after my day at uni, so that's either early morning or late afternoon more so than evening times :)

Yes, I would say this is quite cheap.

You could probably get a free trial there and test it out, then do free trials at other local gyms and weigh up the pros and cons for each.

No comment as to why you might want a membership, though... kidding ;)
