Glad to say, that I resisted the temptation to buy a country road bag in yr 7-8. Yea, they looked SO COOL THEN. But honestly they are just a piece of sloth sown up. THAT AND IT COSTED $60.

I retreated to ebay, and bought myself a big black leather tote bag, yea it was from hong-kong, but it does the same thing, and I only had to pay the very asian price of $20.

it was just painful.

Seriously wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy.

And also, whenever the bag was really unpleasantly heavy, strands of hair tend to get stuck in between/beneath those nasty, rough Country Road handles and it would be a pain to free the hair out. #firstworldproblems

Beast. Wish I had your willpower. I just HAD to get the obnoxious pink one at that too. :P Salvo's is happy now.

Anywhooo, why are people bringing such large bags to uni? I thought textbooks weren't compulsory, unless you're planning to do a bit of studying in between breaks, which you can use a digital file anyway?

For me, I think a light leather satchel will suffice.

I approve of the light leather satchel sentiment.  It's light enough to be convenient, big enough to be useful, and aesthetically awesome enough to get you style points.  The only problem is cost...*spent $300 today buying a new one - old one lasted me for years and years though!*

Tru dat about the hair getting stuck under the handles D: D:. How people actually used those bags during year 12 when you needed to carry text books I will never know. I bought a $70 school bag just for year 12 hahah.

I bought a small Caribee backpack for $35 (small enough to pass the SLV bag check) for uni, I'm assuming we won't need to take textbooks to uni ever, just notes/paper/pens
