I don't mind after school , because I literally live in the city. Lol. But I see, not many people can make it after school. Weekends might be the best!

Yeah I think it would be best to do weekends during the terms

I would be wary of such "study" :P Not much real study happens in groups at the SLV, and I don't want to see you guys (especially those aiming for the top ATARs) do worse because of it (I have seen many people do worse due to "study" at the SLV). I think it's a fine idea for the holidays, but I can't recommend it for the year.

What pi said.
I hadn't set foot in the SLV until first year uni.

It's fine for the light study during the holidays. I did go there a few times during this year, but the 'study groups' rarely had more than 4 people in it. Those who were actually going to work.

Alright, we're mid way through the holidays, so we can see how it goes then? If want to continue we can. If not, well we won't. It may work better for us than it did for others but we won't know unless we try. :)

Either way, it's a small part of the weekend.

Maybe the 2011 cohort didn't have a good attention span :P

I kid :)

Nah man, that has nothing to do with attention, we just change topics real quick. We have so much to discuss. So much quality to discuss..

I agree. We are going to have to be incredibly careful if we do this. As it is, I can see this spiraling into a social session rather than a study session.

I've got a nagging suspicion that when school starts, the sudden hype over these SLV sessions occuring every weekend is going to plummet. It's going to be difficult for people to be transported to the State Library (assuming that most of us don't live next door of course  :P ) and something also tells me that the 'transport' and 'study' time would be better spent working alone?

During the holidays it seems like an okay idea, especially if you're lacking motivation - peer study can do wonders here haha.  :)

I agree. If we do it too often, it will just become a regular social outing. Once every now and again is a good idea I think. :)

Of course, it depends on how we choose to use our time.. I'm going there to study and possibly get help from previous students so I know I'll be working. I guess it's up to everyone else to do the same.

lol, there's already an overwhelming negativity.. Oh well. We'll see what happens
