Ok am I the only one who found it really hard?  I pretty much put 0% effort in though :P

MC was good I think, but I left way too many blank in short answer and ran out of time to do some that I could have :(
Hoping for a C hahah

You mean when you don't do anything except watch funny youtube videos up until the exam day and then wake up at 9 am, study until 10am, go to school then proceed to talk to your friends and distract them from their study and end up doing crap all?
Yeah I found it pretty hard too :D

Yep pretty much! I just put all my effort into bio :P haven't looked at chem since last week, rolled out of bed at 11 this morning and went straight to the exam. I honestly studied harder for sac's haha

I got 5)D as I know that the secondary structure is the formation of local hydrogen bonds between the electronegative O of the C=O and the H of NH

But isn't question 17B??? I thought a strong acid and a strong base such as NaOH with HCL would have an equivalence point of about B?- also wasn't it to the equivalence point?

Me too, if chemistry was first I would've probably invested all my time into that, but since bio was first, I though to myself "Yeah chem can wait." Nope.

I wrote A cos it didn't specify which N-H and C=O? for all we know it could've been on the z groups? :/

@Thushan: I found it easy. I did so much practise, and it all goes down the drain. Not confident I'll get that A+ because my worded answers were rushed and may lack some specific terms. I ended up writing essays for them. I want to protest for a hard exam.
I'm scared that I wont achieve that 45+ study score in chem. WHY IS VCAA A BITCH.

Am taking in students for CHEMISTRY and MATHS METHODS tuition for 2014 as well as first year chemistry. If interested, pm me. Flexible with location.

I got D for question 5 MC too. What was the answer to last short answer qurstion. Would the concentration be underestimated? the one with the orientation of the amide bonds was a bit hard to explain as well. Do u guys reckon it was easy as 2010, i reckon it was same hardness as 2011. I left out q. 7 cause didn't have enough time and did 8 instead. Was q. 7 tricky?

yes lower than true value because more titre of HCL would be required which means n(HCL) in excess would be higher

therefore n(HCL) reacting with the N(ammonia chloride) would be lower, since N(HCL) reacting = original - a larger number
