Yer books are awesome! I'm planning to make a habit to read at least 1 book a month for the rest of my life after VCE finishes. :) Learning should be a life-long habit just not for secondary school and university.

Anyone here read the Millenium Trilogy by Steigg Larsson? I thought it was absolutely fantastic.

I only read popular fiction these days, barely have the time during the semester :(

This is me. I love reading, but I really only have time for it over summer.

I really do love reading a good book, just haven't had the time with exam period. I'll definitely read during the holidays

There was an AN book club thread a little while ago, even if a large amount of it was me being smug about LITERATURE

I'll see if i can find the link for you

here you go: The Good Books Thread/ATARnotes Book Club!

Feel free to resurrect it, if everyone's on holidays you could probably even do a READ A BOOK CHALLENGE

=/ is it me or does every1 IRL seem to dislike books? I've only met a few who are actually active readers.

Every1 seems to use the libraries for the computers and heaters, nothing more...  :(

That actually sounds like a lot of fun. Who's up for it?

Yeah there are very few readers at my school. One of the most frustrating questions I'm ever asked is "What are you reading?" "...A book"  "...Why?!"

I'll do it if there's interest, I read a ridiculous amount/fast so I can add one in with not much effort.
Post a thread and see what happens

Sorry but I need clarification... Do the challenge or restart the thread? And add one in again, in terms of challenge/recommendation for the thread, and a new Topic garnering interest for the challenge or a bump in the existing thread to see what happens?

Oh i meant I would read the book you choose, i can add one to my reading list easily.

And you can pick. You can do both if you want, do some bookchat in that thread as well as starting a new thread for people to pick a book to read

It's really not that hard to quantify..., but I believe that being raped once is not as bad as being raped five times, even if the one rape was by a gang of people.

^LOTF? Really? That stuff is really depressing. Even more so, that it was a prescribed book for year 11. The LOTR trilogy, on the other hand...Now that's much better.
