Why not IRC?

Trolls, at least mods can keep control of things here. Just my opinion though.

True. Ergh. Stupid trolls. Beasts with big horns that live under a bridge. Damn them.

Yeah, but then all these randoms could join and clam up the conversations, it'd just be easier if it weren't IRC i think. IRC always goes off topic haha, no matter how many "mods" (wrong word) you have to kick people.

Would absolutely love to Thushan! :)

In regards to IRC, it is possible to set up permissions to that only certain people can speak.  If that makes anything easier :)

Why not post the tutorials on YouTube so that the whole VCE community would benefit from it? Like KhanAcademy for VCE Chemistry if it's possible. I'm pretty sure a lot of people will benefit from it, you can also put the AN logo in the tutorials and promote AN there so more traffic will come here. :)

Hmm. If it's a cam sesh someone (besides thushan)should record it and post it on YouTube so other people can benefit as well.

Yeah, that's a good idea, takes the podcasting idea a bit further, good marketing opportunity for thush as well

Yes we can (+M option, voice and devoice people), but then how do we decide who gets to speak and not? It'd end up being a bit exclusive. Seeing as the idea here is to generate discussion, imo, forums seem to be the best option. The only problem is that forums isn't as fast and instant, that minor time delay exists.

There's nothing saying that we can't experiment from week-to-week I guess.

edit: oh I misread 'it is' as 'is it'

I dont think the posting thing will work well. itll probs get mass overload, ESPECIALLY considering how bloody awesome Thushan is :P
Instant messaging is effective, but with lots of ppl itll get out of hand, - to overcome this itll need moderation..

i think if thushan did something like douchys podcast for biol, thatd be cool. - i.e., based on general consensus, discuss some topic or theory which may be causing grief, or an explanation for some really good question. for questions to be asked, i guess you could open the thread at the start of the week, people ask away till a certain day, then it gets closed.  then make it the podcast which thushan does in response to that weeks questions. he could also create questions based on the podcast so its more interactive while you listen to it..

Time delay is too much in a forum I reckon, and IM is too uncontrolled, we need to have a system where we have a leader and whoever wants to talk pages the leader and the leader will select the next person to talk based on who paged first, who hasn't had much of a say...etc
