Unfortunately, it's virtually impossible to get into any undergrad med couse with a 95 atar if you are not rural :( Hence my opinion that ATAR >UMAT because the ATAR keeps other options open too :(

Definitely give seeing the GP a thought, the UMAT is just one test, if you are tired like this for the end of year exams, its gonna be tough.

I've heard of non rurals getting into Monash with 92-93?

Well, if I get in, I'll let you know :)

In terms of undergraduate medicine, which university is the "easiest" to get into?

But on the note of the ATAR, seriously reconsider med if your realistic aims are 94-96. Even if you aim for 100  umat, so many things can go wrong on the day even with the best prep. So, my final advice is three fold:
1) Get that sleeping fixed asap
2) Take a break from all UMAT
3) Try, if you can, to lift those ATAR aims to ~99.3+ and work accordingly

Are you having too high expectations? Like are you trying to get like close to full marks for each section or you're actually looking at %iles? The good thing about the UMAT is that you don't actually need to score like 95% raw to get a high ranking. I think anything 80%+ is really good already.

Yes, state of mind actually seperates everybody out on the day. As hard as it is, you have to approach the UMAT confidently.
2012 ATAR: 99.20
2013-2015: Bachelor of Biomedicine (Microbiology/Immunology: Infections and Immunity) at The University of Melbourne
2016-2019: Doctor of Medicine (MD4) at The University of Melbourne

^lol ATAR is more important than UMAT, stop trying to get the OP more stressed.

You full well know that this year, whether Monash gives out interviews or not is based solely on UMAT (they've abolished the 2nd round of interviews - which I think you know about) so I don't see how the ATAR can be more important than the UMAT at this stage - given that the UMAT is essentially what gives you an interview or not.

I wasn't trying to get Surgeon stressed out - in fact, I was giving the facts - and the truth is for Monash (might not be the case with other universities) - the UMAT is what determines whether or not you get an interview, not the ATAR. It's a fact - it's not my opinion.

I don't understand why there's been such an adverse reaction to my post :\

I believe that Monash is one of the ONLY unis to not give second round interviews taking the ATAR into account, so I still think that in the general scope of med (which isn't just undergrad), the ATAR is the most important of the two, it keeps options open, and thats the truth.

Not just Monash, I think University of Adelaide is based on UMAT alone as well - I won't deny the ATAR is not important because it is - but I'm just saying for undergraduate medicine, the UMAT is the big gateway to medicine, not the ATAR - the ATAR is more like the interview - it plays a part - but it's not the hurdle.

Anyways, that's all in my opinion, let's get back to the topic.

The lowest ATAR (or ENTER) that I know of gaining someone med entrance to Monash is 96.60

Can you apply for SEAS when going for undergrad med? Surgeon would probably be eligible as well.

I'm paraphrasing "minimum ATAR of 90 but students should aim for 95+ to be highly competitive"
