Unlikely I would think :P I know someone in exactly the same position as you: 99.95 and 68%ile but didn't get into monash. But that was in 2012, don't take my word for it. Wait for Pi or something.
And congrats on your score.

If you classify for the Dean's Rural List, then probably. Either way, as long as your UMAT is above the 50-50-50 threshold for each section, Monash tends to like their 99.95s so I wouldn't be surprised if you got an interview as a metro student. It's a close call in my opinion.

Oh wow haha and thanks. Yeah I believe in 2012 they ranked applicants more on UMAT but since 2013 or 2014 I've heard that Monash now increased the weighting of the ATAR as well.

It is above the 50-50-50 threshold. Thanks for your input, it gives me hope :) Although even if I do receive an offer with such a low UMAT I would have to ace the interview which I have not prepared for.

You will be right mate, nothing a 99.95er can't handle ;) All the best though!

So glad to tell you guys that I have received an interstate interview for Monash even without being placed on the Dean's Rural List!  :D

This is overwhelming in a sense, but it's good to see what you should be aiming for to get into certain med courses

What atar, and Umat percentile should you be aiming for to be just considered for an interview, and does disadvantage backgrounds etc play a factor in how low the atar can be, or how low the umat percentile score can be?

Hey guys, I know it's school/uni holidays and we're all procrastinating, if anyone gets to that point of their life when researching UMAT stuff becomes appealing, and hence can be bothered finding new stats for 2015 entry (from medstudentsonline, PD, etc.), please post them below. I really cannot be bothered updating it myself (in all honesty, I just don't give one f*ck about the UMAT any more hahahaha), so hoping that the AN community can chip in a bit for this one! :)

edit: if someone finds the details of 2015 entry and if I'm not around to update it, ask a nat mod to do so!

Hey guys! Just wondering how competitive a 96 ATAR and 97th percentile UMAT is when applying under the Monash guarantee for their undergrad MBBS program?

Thanks!  :)
Don't worry about scores that you can't change  because there are so many more productive things you could do

hey guys just in a hypothetical situation:

is a low 90s ATAR (90-95) too low for all med schools? ((anywhere but Bond))

(and with the monash guarantee)

It's honestly not great, but people (maybe a 'couple') have got in every year with those stats.

Are you rural? If not, I'd be very doubtful of those scores getting a place.

some parts of my suburb are but apparently my address isn't... Not really sure if they would classify me rural or not (even then it would only be RA2)

Hey guys,

This year I got 87th percentile with an overall score of 177: section scores of 58/65/54.
What do you guys think my chances of getting into UQ are? I will be applying for bonded as well.

Cheers

I got 67/71/59 (overall 196) and 98th percentile in the UMAT. I'm currently look at an ATAR of low to mid 99s (probably somewhere from 99.20-99.60). Given that I have a decent interview, any ideas as to how good a shot I have at Monash med?
