It was a fairly long exam, but I think more than anything issues with the exam came from the pressure rather than anything else.
I know I made plenty of silly errors, dropped 3/4 marks when going back and revising my answers, and I put that primarily down to exam pressure.

I didn't think it was as difficult as everyone is claiming, perhaps on par with VCAA 2011?

Although I really do love the battle of the genii to see who can put out the quicker solutions ;)

Question difficulty probably like last year but harder to get a high mark due to time.  Oh how 15-20min would have made me get 10% more marks

I agree. MC didn't feel particularly difficult, and in my opinion, ER would still be reasonably do-able if we were spared an extra half an hour.

The content in this year's exam was slightly harder than VCAA 2011 I'd say, what made the exam so difficult was definitely the 2 hour limit.

what do you guys think i could get with a 36/40 for part one and 60/80 part2 with A+ sacs??

Considering the difficulty of the exams, I'd say a 40.

Same... I left 6 marks blank because I ran out of time. I would've been able to answer it all if I'd just skipped that stupid 2 mark tangent show that question.

Yep, would have checked over the harder ER questions and wouldn't have felt so pressured to finish (which made me rush the total area question in question 5, I stupidly got it wrong trying to finish it quickly) and been able to get logical answers down for th last MC and last part of the last ER question. At the very least give 3 marks for that 'show that' question. Also pretty sure I got it wrong...had my answer as x=1 and x=-1 which I don't think is right. fml.

Give me an extra 10 minutes and I finish the paper, 15 min and I get a bit of time to check over stuff. Wasn't terribly difficult one it's own but the time constraints on the exam were what made it hard. Everyone including myself felt like they were 'behind' and rushed their working and thus will have probably made silly errors (I know I have).

I actually found it to be really easy in comparison to past exams but it was too long! I think I spent too much time on my CAS and under pressure took too long to think so I've missed out on at least 7 marks...

Basically what we've gathered from this thread is that if everyone had enough time they'd get 100%

I hope that the cut offs for each grade get reduced. Really worried to be honest, lol

MC was tough i felt, about 4 i spent more than 2 minutes on IIRC

I had to rely on my CAS a lot for MC, but there were some questions (like the last) where you couldn't even use it, and had to draw it out visually (and I still got it wrong).

I think Paul's "30 MINUTE MAXIMUM" advice for MC just overtook me and I began to rush when I saw that I had spent 25 mins on like 17 questions lol

Its funny how people are saying that it was really long compared to every other year. Cause everyone last year pretty much said the same thing :P

Nah, this was definitely longer. Trust.
