When I talk about VCE, I usually mean Year 12. "Man I worked so hard in VCE".... but I didn't do shit in Year 11. I feel like it's a VCE-practice mode LOL
✌️just do what makes you happy ✌️

Yeah I mean ultimately my perceptions of VCE, or my first thoughts, is yr 12. I'm luckily being exposed to VCE at two different subjects. By the way, I just think that doing two yr 12 subjects with different content (Bio & Further Maths), and seeing the level of time I should be spending for different subjects. So it is a sort of trial run for next year even though I obviously cannot afford stuff-ups.

Yeah same, it feels like it's not actually VCE , but at the same time having 3/4 subjects makes it more year 12 like

I agree with the above posts, I don't really see year 11 as VCE, but year 11 is so important, geez, at the end of year 10 I was like "omg, year 11, what a waste, why can't I just do year 12, year 11 doesn't even contribute to my ATAR!". I'm so glad I stepped up in year 11. In year 10, I failed nearly every subject and I didn't even know what an essay was. Year 11 is about practicing for year 12 and it is very important. This is what I'm going to say for all current and future year 11 students, even though I'm not an excellent grade achieving student:
- Forming a study habit is so vital. This is what will get you through year 12. I still don't have a good study habit and I blame that on my year 11 study habits
- "Units 1 and 2 mean nothing". Oh my gosh, I will slap someone who says that. My teachers and peers always said that. A lot of content in units 3/4 is just extended from year 11. Even some topics in units 3/4 that are completely new, I'm able to understand it easier.
- ENGLISH IS THE MOST IMPORTANT YEAR 11 SUBJECT, IN MY OPINION. Since English is a prereq for Uni, you're really going to want to establish superb English techniques, so by the time you're in year 12, you can write poifect essays. I scored really well in year 11 English and my essays were baws, but I have now realised that all my essay topics were easy and I winged most of them. I hadn't really actually learned how to understand texts properly and how to write well.
- Don't stress, it's only units 1/2 lol. I remember panicking for my unit 1/2 SACs and Exams, I would freak out sometimes mid-sac and pull my hair and crap. Lol. I still do it really, and I blame that on myself for stressing out on unit 1/2 SACs lol.

enjoy

That is so true; I actually have a real taste of yr 12 because its placing your time over 2 year 12 subjects rather than going crazy on just the 1. I am SO happy I'm doing two yr 12 subjects; it'll alleviate the stress for yr 12 enormously + allow me to dedicate time to only 4 subjects and therefore perform at my best. Less stress in year 12 should give a little boost of confidence!!

lol, yr 11, what joke of a year (school-wise not social-life-wise :p). I did like PE, IT and Geography that year, lol. Didn't even knew I would be completing Yr12 at that time :p

Yr11 isn't vce! Well not for me and especially not when you're not doing a 3/4.

So how badly will it affect my Study score (3/4) if I got like 75% on a SAC?

And yes, this is just an excuse to bump the thread

Not much at all, SACs at MHS probably scale up anyway. Just improve with the next ones and keep your chin-up :)
