Wanted to include the picture, thought it might of been funny. After my tragedy of a post, I thought I still owed the people of Atar Notes, clearly I don't :P

Hey guys! I'm doing Bio 3/4 this year. Any advice on how much I should study before school starts and any other general advice?  :)

If you were keen maybe learn the first chapter and maybe 1 or 2 more and write notes (if you need to) and answer some questions. I think that would be sufficent enough but if you want to do more go ahead. :)

But just don't over do, good luck.

So you summarised Unit 3 AOS1? Should I do some Biozone pages as well or wait till the teacher sets the work?

Thanks by the way for your advice. Good luck to you this year!  :)

Yeah defs do some of those pages. Dont always wait for the teacher and sometimes take your learning into your own hands.
Everything extra you can do in these holidays will benefit you in the year.

For the biozone Pages, do the first few, but don't do a lot of them as imo they should be better for sac revision and stuff...

I can answer it: to piss us off. :P

But in all seriousness it's an insurance policy. So if your exam scores were very very low compared to your GAT equivalent and indicative grade (given by your teacher), then they recheck the paper. Or if you need to get a Derived Score, they use your SACs and the GAT to derive it. They MAY also use GAT to a very small extent in moderation of SACs.

Just decided to swap from Further 3/4 to Biology 3/4 next year. To anyone who is doing Biol next year how much have you completed so far and what are you planning on doing?

Well so far I've done most of Area of study 1,  basically one last topic left in area of study 1... and I've also done the first few biozone pages (although i recommend you do biozone later, when you've actually started, it serves as good revision for sacs etc.). I plan to maybe do Area of study 2 as well, but that might be going too far ahead, idk.
I also recommend reading the posts on the advice thread, they're pretty good (especially mavisgibbons ) and all the other ones  if you can be bothered. I also bought the AN bio guide...
