But being an entrepreneur there is a high risk of failure. If I start a business when I'm 18 and run it until I'm 21 with no education and it fails, I have nothing to fall back on except for experience - and this business is incredibly cringeworthy but has room for profit in its business model, but anything can happen. That is why I want something to fall back on, to get into a creative field if everything goes astray or even just to make some money in the first ten or so years of my life. And you started your own company? Do you mean like the whole ABN route or more so like making adsense with websites and YouTube (which I did) because wow if you made a business already!
Whilst nothing usually goes to plan, I still believe there is creativity in business. My first business plan is just something that my friend and I can do to make some money and to get some money in our pocket which is just a gruelling service. Then I want to make a business like Pixar where you tell a story in animation, a really cutesy story and have people happier than they originally wore. This may have been a childhood dream that I'm still holding on too, and although I have no ability to animate or make music or anything, as a kid I would sit down writing stories when I had no computer or anything and just imagine what it would be like to produce something that you were apart of that made people happy, and be proud of it (e.g. I want to be a creative director says the 18 year old). I kind of shaped my dreams around the revered Walt Disney! LOL! I don't see myself doing anything else, so I don't know if that is a good or bad sign.
I'm not too sure what you are talking about with the whole tracksuit thing. Jobs was known for his turtle neck. Zuckerberg for his hoodie on Wall Street. We have a mutual Gandel friend who is a billionaire and he dresses like he is Al Pacino or something whilst at the tennis in $20,000 box seats. LOL I ramble.
Very true-makes sense to have something to fall back onto to. That's pretty much my main motivation for going to uni, just to get a degree which gives some professional qualification.
And yeh, I have a business with an ABN and everything but I seldom operate it right now since yr 12 is taking most of my time, I don't think I want to pursue it anymore regardless.
Sounds very noble about the whole animation thing too. Good luck

(I'm not being sarcastic when I say that, I mean it).
What I meant to say was that most businessmen haven't been successful in the ways people like Jobs or Zuckerman has, most of it's mining or developing really which is a real corporate world. I think I was overly pessimistic in the depiction I gave in hindsight however, there definitely are opportunities for innovative people with a new way of thinking, basically though, that tends to be a niche.
