What?! Why are you guys stressed over English? I feel so relaxed about English exactly due to its uncertainties - there is so much we can do to prepare! I am stressing over Methods (especially given 2013 exam!) and Spesh! Argh haha - maybe I am taking things too easily! :S (getting slightly worried that I am, lol).
which is what makes me unrelaxed :P
i feel like there's such a ridiculously broad amount of things that they could possibly ask, and so little time to prepare for all of it. the prompts for my section a text (war poems) tend to be really weird as well. i'm kinda worried that i'll end up with a prompt that makes it impossible to show off any strong ideas, and end up just trying to write at least something down

basically i feel like if the vcaa gods are smiling most benevolently upon me and all the prompts are great, i could smash this exam. on the other hand, if the prompts are crap, i'll probably be less than thrilled lol

Yeap - as soon as exams start on wed I won't be on ATARnotes until its all over.

I hate discussing exams and finding out about mistakes and then being depressed going into next exams. I'll be back on on the 14th when its all done.

Agreed. Last thing I want is to feel depressed after seeing all my million stupid mistakes in any exam. :p

Who here is intent on post-exam discussions? I feel like I don't want to engage in that because it may be disheartening. Not so much for English, because there's no real right or wrong answer. But for things like Math or Science subjects, it's kind of like blergh!

Basically all of that ^
There's no need to worry about something that you can't fix, and it's certainly a waste of time and energy to just work yourself up even more over it.
My philosophy is to walk out of the exam and be glad its over, not to dwell on anything I could've done better. Sure, you're going to be worried about it and thinking it through in your head, but you've got to get over it quickly and focus on the next thing.

I feel the same. I am doing Henry IV, part I and it was the highest scoring text last year. I am worried that VCAA will make the prompts extra hard for Henry because of this.... LOL. But it's good that we get two options to choose from. And tbh, VCAA can't ask ridiculous prompts and they will always have to recycle the same things asked in different words...

Yeah I wouldn't stress, the chief assessor told me individually that they have to provide at least one prompt per text that is accessible to the entire group of students studying that text. Be glad because people doing Henry last year also scored very highly in context/language analysis... ;)

How do we find this out?

Ew, my sleep cycle is totally out of whack -_- Going to be fun to reset it for English.

I think it'll be cool to discuss how we went here but NOT discuss answers after exams. For instance we can all either congratulate each other, or give the comfort to those who want to vent after a shitty exam!

What's everyone up to day? :)

I have 9 base essays for context that I've memorised, and they span the various topics of Whose Reality? and so for the specific prompt we get on the exam, I'll amalgamate sections and concoct my piece. Going through all of them at the moment.

I'm also hoping to review my close analysis for language analysis - review my essays and see how I can really drill in on the specific effect on the reader to enhance that.

Text response I'm really spending the next two days reading over past essays for ACC and getting the overlapping ways of describing various concepts in my mind. I'm memorising essay plans as my little task on Monday.

4PM Tuesday my English revision stops. It'll be relaxing from then onwards, perhaps watch a movie, and just wind down. Wednesday will be a big day! :) good luck guys! I sincerely respect each and every one of you, and I hope you all do well. You guys are all a cool bunch, really supportive and it's been a blast working with you! We're nearly done! Let's kill it!!

Wow you are too productive!

All I have planned is;
1 global politics essay
4 pages of methods bound reference (yes I still need to complete that)
1 chemistry exam paper
1 english essay
1 biology exam paper
and touch on some metalanguage for bio and english

good luck guys! I sincerely respect each and every one of you, and I hope you all do well. You guys are all a cool bunch, really supportive and it's been a blast working with you! We're nearly done! Let's kill it!!

I second this. Seriously AN has been great for moral support and motivation. What a year it has been, I wish every single one of success and an eased path through exams! Good luck everyone  ;D
